I bring a lot of tender love and care to the table. I have experience in early childhood development and have spent years nurturing children in child development centers. I'm a mom of two children and discovered my passion for postpartum doula work after being a military spouse and needing extra support after giving birth. Whether you are bringing home baby number one or baby number five, my goal is to help families thrive! I'm here to provide you with not just physical, but emotional support throughout the exciting transition. With my wealth of knowledge and experience in both child development and postpartum support, I will provide you with the individualized evidence-based guidance needed to help you feel secure in your parenting decisions. I'm Megan Robert (row-BERT), an Infant & Toddler Sleep Consultant and owner of After the Stork. My background as a former Postpartum Doula, Au Pair, and Nanny has provided me with a well-rounded perspective on family dynamics and child development. This experience allows me to focus on both the practical aspects of infant care and the emotional journey of parenthood. While it's incredibly rewarding to see a child achieve quality sleep and its benefits, the most fulfilling part of my work is witnessing the transformation of a parent. I often meet individuals during some of the most raw and vulnerable times in their lives, filled with anxiety and self-doubt. I am privileged to be welcomed into a family at such a time and often witnessing the growth of confidence and assurance. Recognizing that my clients are people with identities beyond parenting, I also aim to support and encourage them as whole individuals. It’s a bonus when my services help parents find balance, allowing them to enjoy date nights, quality time with friends, and self-care.

I help sleep deprived parents master the art of getting their newborns and toddlers to sleep through the night and improve daytime sleep by using age appropriate, gentle sleep approaches catered to your child. I am a certified baby + toddler sleep consultant helping parents (like you) reclaim your sleep and your sanity by providing proven techniques that will improve the quality of you and your baby's sleep patterns. My passion is for helping others. I know first hand what it's like to be an exhausted, frustrated parent just trying to get through each day with a child who refuses naps, wakes often throughout the night and is inconsolable. I want to help parents out there, not just get through each day, but LOVE each day with your child, and that starts with better sleep for everyone. I can't wait to meet you and learn all about your family!
Alexandria, Virginia
Hi! I’m Susan, a Pediatric Sleep Consultant, mom of two little girls, and a former Kindergarten teacher. I’m glad you found me :-) I am a gentle sleep coach and use the Sleep Sense method of interval reassurance with the option of staying in the room with your child with a gradual exit plan. I feel that one of our most sacred jobs as a parent is to help our babies feel safe and secure not just during the day but at night, too. Sleep is crucial in child development and I believe that children who struggle to find sleep can be taught healthy sleep habits. I’ve personally experienced this when we worked with a consultant to solve our youngest’s sleep troubles! If your child is struggling to find sleep or relies on you to fall asleep, let’s chat. I’d love to help your family get the sleep you all deserve!

Before starting Parenting Couture, I spent over 15 years as a Postpartum and Pediatric nurse for Inova Fairfax and a local pediatrician supporting families through every stage of parenting; from birth to the teenage years. I found there wasn’t only a need but a high demand for services to help navigate the many challenges and unknowns that come with parenting. As a mom of four boys, I understand the many aspects of parenthood, and more importantly, I know parenting isn’t a one-size-fits-all. Each service is custom-tailored to fit your individual parenting style and needs.

Hello Parents of Little Ones! My name is Jessica Vonada! I have always had a passion for children, especially babies! My initial work with infants was in the setting of an early learning center from 2005-2009 while I was in college earning a B.S. in Elementary Education and M.S. in Education, specializing in ESL. After graduating in 2009, I taught for 2 years before realizing working with infants was my true calling. In 2011, I began working in the role of a Newborn Care Specialist, primarily with preemies & twins. From May 2015 until July 2017, I had the privilege of caring for orphaned & abandoned infants and toddlers in a babies home in Uganda. And in 2018, I received my certification as an Advanced Newborn Care Specialist. My journey to becoming a child sleep consultant began in 2012. At that time I was in a 24 hour care position with a set of twins. Initially their sleep seemed fairly on track, but after hitting the 4 month sleep regression, their sleep quickly began to unravel. By 6 months of age they were waking every 1-2 hours each night and the mom decided it was time to bring in a sleep consultant. I was skeptical to say the least! Much to my disbelief, within a few days they were sleeping 12 uninterrupted hours at night and began taking age appropriate naps. After that I had to know more! And in 2016, I graduated from the Family Sleep Institute as a Certified Child Sleep Consultant. As I continued as a Newborn Care Specialist and Child Sleep Consultant, I realized I was not always able to advise and assist lactating and postpartum moms the way I would have liked to. I wanted to become more balanced and be able to provide holistic support to the families I was caring for. As a result, I took the necessary steps to become a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist and Certified Postpartum Doula. And currently I am pursuing the journey to becoming an IBCLC. I have a true passion for what I do and would love to help you and your family get the sleep you need!
