I am a highly experienced, DONA-certified, and trained birth doula based in Colorado, with a diverse background spanning over three decades in family advocacy, early childhood development, and child life. While my technical expertise and history are noteworthy, my doula journey truly began with my own unique birth experiences. God put this career on my heart and revealed it to me at the perfect time. After learning that becoming a doula could positively affect the outcome of a mother’s experience, I knew I had found my calling. My experiences, God’s guidance, and a lifelong love for all things pregnancy and babies led me to become a doula and start Mountains of Love Doulas in 2020. My mission is to empower my clients to completely rewrite the birth experience through informed decisions about their prenatal care and birth by providing tools and knowledge along with emotional and physical support. I encourage and support women to trust their instincts, ultimately learning to listen to their own body and baby. Originally from Mississippi, I now reside in Berthoud, Colorado with my husband and four children where we enjoy all of the amazing outdoor activities that CO has to offer. When we are not at one of my son’s sporting events, and I am not on call for a birth, you can find us on the slopes, camping, hiking or fishing, I am overjoyed with the thought of meeting my next client and hope that will be the person who reads this and feels a connection through the love and desire that I have for this labor of love. DONA International Certified Birth Doula DONA Breastfeeding Support Trained Red Cross CPR trained and certified Spinning Babies Trained Advanced Comfort Measures Training: Rebozo, Miles Circuit, birth ball Birth experiences: birth centers, home births hospitals, water births, Birthing Center Births and comfort cesarean sections, encompassing both unmedicated and medicated options. Greetings! I'm Karisa Totah, a certified birth doula and postpartum doula (through DONA International). I'm also Spinning Babies trained and a Body Ready Method certified Pro. I live in Littleton, CO with my husband, near my best friend and her babies. I serve the Denver Metro area, usually within 25 miles of my home. Birth, babies, and parenting have been a life-long fascination of mine, even since I was little. I nerd-out over the smallest baby and birth details and absolutely adore helping and learning from each new family I meet. I firmly believe that both the research and my experience support the idea that doulas reduce anxiety. The birthing year can be such a stressful one if you don't know what to expect, don't have the support you need, and don't have people watching out for you. I love filling in the gap to educate and empower, support and love, encourage and help you find joy in this journey. My motto is: "Replacing anxiety with courage, fear with knowledge, discouragement with hope, and overwhelm with joy."

My name is Courtney Moore Rodriguez. I am a certified lactation educator (CLE), certified postpartum doula (CPD), and certified infant and family sleep specialist (IFSS). I am here to support your family in person (within the Denver metro area) and/or virtually…from the time you find out you’re expecting, through your baby’s first birthday. In those first few weeks and months, it can be hard to ask for help. I am a strong believer in helping families to help themselves (with a good amount of time for rest and self care thrown in too). Rather than taking care of your baby for you, I make sure that you have the skills, knowledge, and rest to do it on your own. I assist families in a non-judgmental fashion and always strive to meet you where you are. I am up to date on the latest research regarding infant feeding, sleep, and newborn care, and can give you non-biased information so that you can make informed choices that work for your family.

Marie is a DONA trained Postpartum doula with over a decade of newborn and infant care experience. Through her experience as a nanny, she fell in love with helping families through the journey of parenthood. She witnessed firsthand how chaotic life can be through pregnancy and after birth. She became a doula to help families navigate the stresses of new parenthood and enjoy their lives together with their new baby. Marie aims to guide families through the entire journey into parenthood with a gentle, holistic approach. She specializes in hands-on education, physical and emotional support, feeding assistance, sleep training, cooking, and household organization. Her goal is to nurture parents in this vulnerable and intimate time, and empower them to care for their new child with confidence. A full fridge, clean home, and person to talk to can make all the difference! She also provides antepartum support to assist with birth planning, getting ready for baby, and any additional needs in the final trimester of pregnancy. Beyond educational, physical and organizational support, there is a strong focus on emotional and mental health when working with Marie. She has a trauma-informed and inclusive approach; becoming a parent is a huge shift in identity and deserves to be treated with immense care and respect. Her education and experience allows her to assist with single parents, parents of advanced age, families who have experienced chronic illness, loss, eating disorders, anxiety, and sexual abuse. Marie also identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community. When not working with families, Marie spends time with her baby boy and husband playing with their two rescue dogs. She loves to cook healthy plant based meals and listen to audio books! She is also the co-founder of Newborn Nanny Consultants LLC which helps match families with qualified nannies.

My name is Lyssa Zawalski, and I am a postpartum doula undergoing certification with DONA. My path towards becoming a postpartum doula was a winding one, with stops along the way as a teacher, social worker, and product manager. While I have found a depth to each of these titles, becoming a postpartum doula has felt like so much more. Quickly after giving birth to my daughter, I realized that I was underprepared and undereducated on what came next. Postpartum was filled with navigating solo parenting, PMADs (perinatal mood and anxiety disorders), and lack of a “village.” Once enough time had passed and I could more objectively look back at my postpartum period, the most glaring observation was that I had desperately needed help. I needed support in understanding how to feed my baby, what infant sleep looked like, how to find ways to take care of myself (which felt impossible at times). Having a postpartum doula would have changed my postpartum experience as well as the early years of parenthood. I cannot imagine a more tender time to support a family. I truly believe the care and support that we receive in our postpartum period determines so much of how we start our parenting journeys. Thank you for being here, and thank you for trusting me with the most precious pieces of your heart.

Hello! My name is Laura Rayford and I am a DONA certified birth doula in the Bay Area. I am passionate about guiding birthing people with nurturing and empowering support; working together towards your ideal birthing experience. I have completed two birth doula trainings. One through Hospital Friendly Doulas (which has allowed me to work as a volunteer doula at Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley, CA) and the other with Sierra Birth Institute (a training approved by DONA). Both provided me with invaluable information and numerous tools which allow me to confidently support birthing people and their families.Prior to working as a doula, I worked as a nanny for 15+ years. I have always been drawn to working closely with families and giving children the best possible care. For me, this naturally led me to doula work, helping new little people be brought into the world by their capable, brave and extraordinary birthing parent. I am excited and passionate about this work and deeply appreciate your considering inviting me into such a personal and powerful chapter of your life.
