Hi! My name is Kelly, and I am a birth and postpartum doula in Western North Carolina. I primarily work in the Asheville and surrounding areas. I have been in birth work in this community for almost 20 years in one capacity or another, including being the office manager and light clinical support at WNC Birth Center until shortly before it closed in 2021. While most of my experience is with midwives and midwifery clients, I support families wherever they feel most comfortable, whether that's at home, the hospital, or a freestanding birth center. I launched my own practice in 2025 after finally completing an official birth doula training program that year, and I added a postpartum doula training certificate in early 2026. My favorite part of supporting birth is witnessing the transformation to new parenthood, and it doesn't matter if it's the first time or the fifth. Each time we birth a baby, we change a little (or a lot!). Walking that sacred path with someone is an honor, and I have yet to attend a birth where I didn't leave feeling in awe. I have birthed three children of my own, and each one was a uniquely powerful experience. While I do bring those experiences to the birth room, I do not let them dominate. Instead, I let them guide me to support in ways I wish I had been supported and let them teach me the art of surrender. I am also a postpartum doula, and I am very passionate about supporting parents in those early days, weeks, and months after birth. There is so much new about adding a member to the family, and we were never meant to do this alone. I greatly enjoy mothering the mother and helping other family members adjust to a new routine. I am available for short stretches of time or overnight care. When I am not working in the birth community, I am likely to be snuggling a cat or a dog, reading a psychological thriller, watching a true crime show, or knitting.

As your doula, I’m your non-medical teammate from bump to baby. I bring a DACM background, midwifery training, and deep somatic skills to offer steady, practical support—not needles. Prenatal: We clarify your birth values, map options, and rehearse pain-coping (breath, movement, vocalization). hi, I’m a current active mother baby nurse and have been doing this job for 18 years now. I’ve realized I would like to care for newborns but not in the hospital setting. I am very clean and calm. as well as a very good communicator from all my years in the hospital. I value peace and harmony and hold the family in the highest esteem. I love nature and have lived here for over 30 years and have been married for over 30 years. My two children are 25 and 30 and my daughter who is 30 will be moving back home with her husband. I don’t have any grandchildren yet and my husband ran the local college farm for 20 years. I’m a closet artist and my house is filling up with beautiful art I have created over the last 10 years.
