A wife, mother of two, and proud Houstonian. Giving birth to my first child was a transformative experience. I quickly realized how much I didn't know about breastfeeding and the numerous options available to me during birth. This lack of knowledge was overwhelming, and I couldn't help but think about other first-time moms who might be feeling the same way. That moment sparked a deep desire within me to do more— to guide and support other women as they transition into motherhood. Driven by this passion, I became a life coach for mothers, helping them navigate the beautiful yet challenging transition into motherhood. But as my passion for maternal support grew, I felt motivated to do even more. After much reflection, I decided to pursue a career as a doula.

Hi there! I’m Megan Boswell-Abbassi, a passionate International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) dedicated to supporting families in their breastfeeding journey. Let me share a bit about myself! After experiencing my own challenges with breastfeeding my first child, I became determined to ensure that no one else felt alone or unsupported in their feeding journey. Based in Sugar Land, I happily serve families in surrounding areas like Missouri City, Richmond, Rosenberg, and Bellaire. And yes, I offer virtual visits too, because accessibility is key to supporting families wherever they are. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is witnessing the confidence families gain as they watch their children thrive and grow into healthy individuals. It's truly a privilege to be a part of that journey. Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my own family, including my three wonderful kids, and indulging in hobbies like reading and baking. When it comes to supporting breastfeeding families, I believe in tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs and preferences of each family. Whether it's offering baby-led latch techniques, laid-back breastfeeding positions, or simply lending a listening ear, I'm here to support families every step of the way. I also understand that breastfeeding can sometimes feel overwhelming or uncertain, which is why I prioritize open communication and empowerment. Hi, my name is Ariel and I am excited to help you on the path to motherhood! My journey from holding a PhD in neuroscience to embracing the tender moments of motherhood in Paris is a testament to the twists and turns life can offer. Amidst the allure of Parisian streets, I found more than just a cultural revelation; I discovered a profound passion for the world of breastfeeding, which to me was a delicate blend of science, art, and heart. By 2010, I had settled in Katy, where I dedicated myself to creating a nurturing circle of support for mothers. This newfound mission in my life led me to achieve my IBCLC certification. Pairing my rigorous scientific background with the warmth and insights of motherhood, I crafted a unique approach that has since helped many families navigate and overcome their breastfeeding challenges. The end of 2020 marked another milestone as I became a proud member of the Bayou City Breastfeeding team here in Houston. Hello! I’m Dana Gillman, and I wear several hats in the world of lactation support. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), a Certified Doula (CD) through DONA International, and an ICEA Certified Childbirth Educator (ICCE), I’ve dedicated the past decade to empowering families on their breastfeeding journeys. Breastfeeding wasn’t always smooth sailing for me. When I welcomed my first child into the world, I faced challenges that left me feeling frustrated and overwhelmed. But fate intervened—I was fortunate to have a pediatrician who recognized the importance of lactation support. With just a few simple techniques, I found renewed hope and determination. That experience ignited a passion within me: I wanted to be that guiding light for other moms who felt lost amidst the breastfeeding maze.

Hello, I’m Katelyn Kleiber, and I’m passionate about empowering families on their breastfeeding journey. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Registered Lactation Consultant (RLC), I’ve dedicated my career to supporting new parents and their little ones. I took a unique path to becoming an IBCLC. Unlike many others, I started working in lactation before experiencing my own breastfeeding journey. But my fascination with a woman’s incredible ability to grow and sustain life has been with me since childhood. This lifelong passion for women’s health led me to explore various avenues within the field. Then came my “aha” moment: lactation. I realized there was a significant gap in support for postpartum families, and I felt drawn to fill it. Guided by this newfound purpose, I embarked on my journey as a lactation consultant. Since July 2022, I’ve officially held the title of IBCLC. However, my journey began earlier—back in December 2021—when I worked with clients as a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS) and intern. These experiences shaped my approach to lactation support. I firmly believe that our bodies and beings are interconnected. When working with families, I consider both mother and baby as part of a system. It’s essential to address complications on both sides. But my philosophy extends beyond medical care. I create realistic, sustainable plans that preserve positive relationships around feedings. Breastfeeding isn’t just about nutrition; it’s a beautiful dance between two souls. I encourage laid-back breastfeeding, allowing families to feed without cumbersome nursing pillows. Babies can use their reflexes to their advantage, making feeding a more natural experience. At Bayou City Breastfeeding, we’ve designed a care model that allows us to continue supporting families over weeks, months, or even years. These meaningful relationships are incredibly special. Witnessing progress and positive changes during our journey together fills me with joy. Breastfeeding success isn’t a solo endeavor. Families—partners, grandparents, and all—are crucial. Their support eases the transition into life with a newborn. Together, we create a nurturing environment where everyone plays a vital role. Every family is unique. I take the time to understand their goals, challenges, and dreams. Whether it’s baby-led latch, side-lying bottle feeding, or other techniques, I tailor my recommendations to fit their specific situation. Realistic, doable plans ensure families thrive. Breastfeeding can be overwhelming. When mothers feel uncertain or stressed, I work collaborativel with the mother to identify stressors and create a personalized strategy to minimize discomfort. We’re a team, supporting each other through the ups and downs. When I’m not helping families, you’ll find me exploring the world. Traveling allows me to learn from different cultures and connect with people. I’m an avid reader, diving into books that expand my horizons. And nature—oh, how it rejuvenates my soul! Whether hiking through lush forests or strolling along sandy shores, I find solace in the great outdoors

Lisa knew from a young age that she wanted to be a nurse. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in Fall of 2012, from SFASU. In 2013, she started her career working for a Neuro-Oncologist in Houston who specializes in treating brain cancers. She married her husband, Brian, in 2014. After she experienced breastfeeding difficulties with her own tongue and lip tied baby her journey towards supporting breastfeeding dyads began. In 2017, She returned to work and switched fields of nursing, leaving private practice and entering into the hospital setting. She worked as a postpartum mother/baby nurse at St. Luke’s and quickly became part of the lactation team, having the privilege to enter into many families' first feeding moments and experiences with their newborns. In 2018, she gave birth to her first son, who was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect and who spent 1 month in the level IV NICU. During this time, she experienced exclusive pumping for the first 3 weeks until she was allowed to breastfeed him in the NICU. She continued to pump while separated until he came home, where she was able to breastfeed him. In 2020, she became pregnant with her 3rd child. During her pregnancy she obtained her CLC while working towards obtaining her IBCLC. She gave birth to her second son in the Fall of 2020. She has been a licensed IBCLC since January 2021, and later joined Bayou City Breastfeeding that Spring. Hey there radiant moms and families! 🥰 I’m Jennifer, a passionate Maternal-Child Health advocate with over two decades as a Registered Nurse and Community Health Educator. My journey began in New Orleans where I graduated from LSU Health Sciences Center’s School of Nursing. My love for Maternal-Child Health truly blossomed after witnessing a Midwife-assisted delivery while in nursing school. From an RN at The Birthing Place at Tulane University Hospital and Clinic, to volunteering post-Hurricane Katrina, and moving to Houston pregnant with my twins, my passion for supporting moms intensified during my tenure at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas. I soon realized teaching was my calling. 🍎 As a Certified Childbirth Educator, teaching an array of topics from Infant CPR to Marvelous Multiples, I specialize in empowering parents. And my own NICU journey with my preterm twins fueled my commitment to lactation support. In 2014, I became a Certified Lactation Counselor, and soon after, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Contributing to The Woman’s Hospital of Texas becoming the first Baby-Friendly Hospital in Houston is a badge of honor for me. My heart is with the fierce moms and their tiny NICU warriors. With my professional and personal expertise, I was pleased to bring my passion to my community by leading the opening of Memorial Hermann Pearland Hospital’s Lactation and Perinatal Education Departments. Come 2022, I joined the fantastic Bayou City Breastfeeding crew! Now, from our Webster and West NASA Offices to your cozy homes, I'm here for you. 🏡 Outside of work, I cherish time in Pearland with my husband and four children, engage in my church’s Women’s Ministry, and daydream about sandy beaches. Ready to embark on this journey together? Let’s make your breastfeeding experience memorable! 💜 Remember, together, we've got this! 🤱🏻🌸

Hello! If you're seeking a holistic, family-centered approach to lactation, infant feeding and parenting support, I'm Suzanne, and I'm here for you. My journey began in 2003 with the foundation of Merry-Go-Round in Kingwood, a haven for moms seeking both community and lactation guidance. By 2014, I was instrumental in establishing a breastfeeding-friendly environment at The Woman's Hospital of Texas. Shortly after, I teamed up with Dr. James Liu, known for his expertise in addressing oral restrictions. Together, we ensured comprehensive care for families grappling with challenges like lip and tongue ties. However, my passion didn't stop there. Recognizing the need for more tailored support, Bayou City Breastfeeding was born in 2016. We passionately believe in empowering parents, firmly holding that they are the true experts on their children. In today's often confusing landscape of parenting advice, we bridge the gap. Beyond mere lactation advice, we're here to build lasting relationships, offering insights on everything from infant feeding to mental health, viewing each family holistically to ensure everyone's needs are addressed. Professionally, I stared out as a Certified Lactation Counselor and achieved the gold standard International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant certification in 2014. I value contnuing education and have pursued additional training in numerous areas related to breastfeeding and infant feeding. Presently, I'm honored to serve as President of HALCEA, nurturing growth in the lactation community. On a personal note, I'm privileged to celebrate 24+ years of marriage and the joy of parenting. Outside of work, I relish running, reading, and painting. I'm here to stand by you, ensuring you feel valued and heard on this incredible journey.

Welcome to my corner of the internet! I'm Brandy, a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with a passion for helping mothers and babies on their breastfeeding journey. My career in nursing began in 2006, where I initially found my calling in the labor and delivery unit. Witnessing the miracle of new life and being a part of that special moment filled me with joy and purpose. However, it was my personal experience with breastfeeding challenges that truly ignited my passion for lactation and breastfeeding support. As a mother myself, I faced hurdles and uncertainties in my breastfeeding journey that led me to dive headfirst into the world of lactation science and support. This transformative experience sparked a desire to empower and guide other mothers through their own breastfeeding challenges. Becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in January 2018 was a pivotal step in my journey, solidifying my commitment to providing evidence-based care and guidance. In late 2020, I made the decision to transition full-time into private practice, allowing me to dedicate my expertise exclusively to supporting mothers and babies in their breastfeeding endeavors. With years of hands-on experience in labor and delivery, coupled with my specialized training as an IBCLC, I bring a unique blend of medical expertise and compassionate care to every interaction. When I'm not assisting mothers and babies, my faith and family keep me grounded. I'm a proud wife and mother of two wonderful sons. My own family experiences have deepened my understanding of the complexities of parenthood and the importance of a strong support system. Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to being a part of your breastfeeding adventure.❤️

I’ve been an RN for 17+ years and have been working with the mother/Baby dyad for 15+ years. My increased interest for the lactation portion of the dyad came with the birth of my third child. I had successfully breastfed 2 other children before her and with her “something” was not going right. Despite me doing what I had done before, her latch was painful, and I had cracked nipples in less than 24 hours of life. I was able to get some assistance in the hospital from the lactation consultant, but we continued to struggle for some time. I was lucky to be able to have that consultant as a coworker and received continued support for the 15+ months that I breastfed her. I continued to work as a mother/Baby RN for years and was supported by the staff's lactation consultants and became known as the “nurse who keeps her moms breastfeeding “. It was so satisfying to have mother leave the hospital “exclusively breastfeeding". I started learning more about breastfeeding and my desire to become a lactation consultant grew. With the birth of my 4th child in 2012 I learned first-hand the struggles that came with breastfeeding an infant with oral restrictions. She was revised and we made it 17 months of exclusive breastfeeding, but it wasn’t until I became a lactation consultant, I realized that she was still restricted, and she had to have a second procedure when she was 7 years of age! In 2016 I was finally able to become a CLC to start gaining more hours towards lactation to be able to sit for my IBCLC. Since 2017 my life has been making sure to support parents in reaching their feeding goals. This has become my satisfaction. I’ve been working in the hospital as the lactation consultant, currently at Texas Children’s Hospital. Being in that position I knew that the families I assisted were off to a good start but always had a nagging feeling of wondering how their breastfeeding journey would continue. In 2019 my eyes were opened to private practice, and it was with Bayou City Breastfeeding that my world of lactation expanded. Daily I learn new things and ways to help families reach their feeding goals. No two families are the same. I worked hard to position myself to be able to practice with this team and finally joined them in 2022. This has been the best life decision I have ever made. Now I feel like I’m in a position to really help families and to be present on the whole journey.
