I have 4 grown children, I was a sign language interpreter many years ago, and worked in a local church for 20 years. I was incredibly nieve and uninformed when I had my children and it is my hearts desire to support moms through pregnancy and birth as well as those first few months after baby is born. I have been so blessed to have jobs I have loved all my life - wife, mother, grandmother, registered nurse, pregnancy care center director, lactation consultant and certified postpartum doula. It is hard to believe it has been over 48 years since nursing school. Being a Doula has brought much fulfillment into Jennifer’s life. As a Birth Worker, she enjoys being able to be a source of comfort and guidance for families. Seventeen years ago, she decided to become a birth & postpartum doula after working closely for years with her own grandmother, who was a midwife. It gave her the confidence and strength to pursue birth work. Her role as a birth worker allows her to provide the support parents and babies need in order to ease the transition into the amazing life of parenthood.  She is bilingual (English/Spanish) and is currently learning ASL. Even with my experience, my entry into parenthood was difficult - I had breastfeeding struggles and felt unheard by many of my providers. My goal as a nurse and lactation consultant is to be the calm, knowledgeable and nonjudgmental presence you turn to during your prenatal and postpartum journeys.

Evana Cooper is a certified Midwives Assistant, Labor and Postpartum Doula and Childbirth Educator. She certified as a doula and childbirth educator in 2019 with AMANIBIRTH. She is an experienced youth educator, and a committed advocate to the necessity of families experiencing empowered birth experiences. A mother of four herself, she began her journey to birth-work after experiencing first-hand the struggles of birthing her own children without assistance from any immediate family. She now strives to pass on what she has learned to other mothers and works tirelessly under her own brand to serve, educate, and empower families through labor and postpartum.

After many years of soul searching, Stacy created Hold My Heart in an effort to combine her passion for caretaking with her education and experience in business administration.
