Victoria brings significant clinical experience and professional development to Smithfield Physical Therapy Specialists. As one of few board-certified specialists in orthopaedic physical therapy (OCS) in the region, and one of even fewer therapists trained in pelvic health management, she is an asset to the health of the Isle of Wight County community, bringing these specialized services locally. Victoria is passionate about improving access to pelvic health during pregnancy and postpartum to optimize the mother’s experience and improve overall quality of life. Outside of the clinic, she has been a contributor to the profession at large with efforts including the development of post-professional continuing educational content, assisting with entry-level special topic education, and serving as a mentor and clinical instructor for several entry-level doctorate students.

Here, we are not purely interested in treating your pelvic floor dysfunction, we are interested in YOU in your entirety! A common myth regarding this specialty is that we treat only the pelvic floor, but that is far from the truth at Smithfield Physical Therapy Specialists! Our current body of evidence has consistently demonstrated that pelvic floor disorders may stem not only from dysfunction of the pelvic floor but from spinal, hip and lower extremity dysfunction. Therefore, we believe firmly that our evaluation and treatment approach needs to reflect this, for you are so much more than the “strength” of your pelvic floor musculature! Here at Smithfield Physical Therapy Specialists we pride ourselves in not providing you with just a quick fix but finding the root of the problems and allowing you to get back to what you love most, symptom-free!
