We came to Sharon when our daughter was 5 months old. She was sleeping fairly well at bedtime, but naps were extremely difficult, and she was bottle dependent. I was going back to work soon and needed someone besides myself to be able to put her down for naps. Within a couple of days we were able to break the feeding to sleep with the bottle, and after a week her naps started to lengthen and she would go down easily in her crib. We can't thank her enough for helping us understand daytime schedules, create a good routine and allow dad and grandma to get more involved in nap time.

My husband and I really enjoyed working with Sharon for the birth of our son. We felt supported, heard, and encouraged the entire time. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. She showed me different positions to try during labor and recognized when I was starting to fatigue and made really helpful suggestions. She was very professional, kind, and empathetic. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula!

My husband and I hired Sharon as our doula with the intention of having as close to a non-medicated birth as possible. We were flexible with our birth plan but preferred to have minimal interventions. Sharon was very thoughtful in helping us plan and prepare for the birth of our newborn. We met a few times before the birth and frequently texted regarding updates from prenatal appointments and occasional questions I had about symptoms. Sharon always responded quickly and with very helpful information. Around week 28 I found out I had gestational diabetes and low lying placenta and would likely need to have a scheduled c section. With this news, we switched some of our appointments to focus on sleep training and postpartum care. However, at week 33, I was cleared for a natural delivery. My doctor scheduled me for an induction at 39 weeks pregnant. I was hesitant about the induction, but ultimately went forward with it. Sharon was extremely attentive with every decision that was made and made sure to confirm with me that I was comfortable with the interventions my doctor proposed. This was so helpful because of the fatigue and anxious state I was in. Sharon discussed each intervention with me and made me feel confident I was informed before making any decisions. After starting Pitocin, i was able to work through contractions with no epidural until I was 6 cm dilated. Sharon assisted by helping me get into various positions including on a medicine ball and peanut ball. She was extremely hands on the entire time, applying counter pressure and support while I worked through each contraction. Once it was time to push, Sharon continued to assist me in positions that helped baby descend into the pelvis. Sharon helped me stay motivated throughout the entire labor. I was able to have the vaginal delivery I wanted and am blessed to have a healthy and very happy little boy. I cannot thank Sharon enough for her support and will definitely be using her for my second birth.

Sharon is absolutely amazing. I was late in my pregnancy when I decided I wanted to have a birth doula, 37 weeks and feeling like I needed more support as I prepared for a natural water birth. The level of care that she provided in such a short time exceeded my expectations in every way and I have no idea how I would have gotten my baby here without her! Her calming presence made me feel so much more at ease, and her knowledge of every stage of birth and labor is very evident in the way she educated and supported me through the experience. She helped me into various positions to ease contractions and move my baby down, was encouraging and didn’t match my moments of fear or doubt, and offered helpful breathing techniques and physical tools to alleviate pain like a birthing ball, tens machine, back roller, comb, and her own two hands! I had a challenging labor that lasted three days, and I think if not for Sharon‘s support I might have given up on my plan to deliver naturally and ended up in the hospital. But I did it, and I safely delivered my sweet boy the way I planned - unmedicated and in a birthing pool, surrounded by the people that helped me through it. She captured these moments for me on my phone as well! Thank you for everything Sharon - we love you!

Sharon was instrumental for my wellbeing during pregnancy and postpartum. Whenever I had questions and concerns about pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and care for my newborn, she was there to answer questions and calm my anxiety. Not only is she intellectually resourceful, she supported my mental health as well. While I was suffering from severe NVP (nausea and vomiting in pregnancy), she completely validated my feelings and experience and was always there to listen when I needed support. While I had concerns about my baby’s health during the newborn stage, she was a guiding light. She is just the kind of woman you would want by your side for the most special time of your life. I cannot recommend Sharon enough for your birth doula!
