Hi! My name is Amy and I'm a Birth and Postpartum Doula in Lexington, KY. My work focuses on 3 pillars of support during the birthing year! Education: knowing your options and planning for your ideal birth experience and the unexpected. A great way to avoid a traumatic birth experience is to be really educated about your options before you go into labor! Advocacy: knowing what you want and making sure that is respected and supported. It's your birth and you're in charge! Recovery: postpartum is a gift to reset your health, but this requires rest, nourishment and establishing new routines with your new baby. I will help you make a plan before baby arrives and implement it after you give birth!

Hi! My name is Aubrey, I’m 24, and I am a mama to 3 wild toddlers. My journey to this profession started in 2019 when I had my first born. I had a hospital birth and had no clue what I was doing and neither did my husband. It was a rough experience to say the least. So when I got pregnant with my second baby I wanted things to be different. I did a lot of research and ended up having a home-birth. It was beautiful, I had never been so close to God. I got pregnant again less than a year later and had another beautiful home-birth. I realized that some women never get to feel like I did, I want to change that. I want mamas to feel what it is to have a faith-filled, relaxing, beautiful birth is like. Even if it isn’t at home. Every woman should get to experience what I experienced.

Hello! My name is Brittany Thomas. I am a jack-of-all-trades mother of nine children (and soon to be grandma!) I have always had a passion for helping women and children in my community with a special focus on first time mothers. I had counseled at a crisis pregnancy center for 6 years and unofficially supported close friends and family members through pregnancy, labor, birth, breastfeeding, postpartum and parenting for the last 15 years. I then finally decided to make a career out of it. I decided to train and become a doula through DONA international. I have completed my training and am a certification candidate who has completed all of the required reading and attended two of the required 3 births. I had my first child at 19 and knew almost nothing about pregnancy, labor and birth which resulted in a very difficult and traumatic delivery and postpartum. After that experience I was determined to research and learn everything I could about human anatomy, the female body and reproductive system, pregnancy, labor, birth and breastfeeding. I went on to carry and give birth to 6 more children (and breastfeed all of them) each of them having unique challenges which provided me with invaluable experience. It is my dream to see a time in which education and caring personal support of women, from pregnancy through postpartum, is normal and accessible to all. I would love the opportunity to help you feel prepared and educated to face the various challenges labor and childbirth presents. I will be there to support you through labor and delivery and cultivate peace and confidence no matter what type of birth you have.

Bowling Green, Kentucky
Hi there! My name is Katie Sam Smith. I am a birth doula based in Bowling Green, KY and serving the surrounding KY/TN area. I am passionate about matrescence and want to help my clients envision and accomplish the birth of their dreams! I am a mom to a miracle baby, and my pregnancy involved a very rare diagnosis, fetal surgery, bedrest, and a NICU stay (when my original plan was a homebirth!). I am well aware of how vulnerable and scary this season of life can be. But I also know that your body and your baby were MADE to do this! My goal is not to teach you how to birth, make choices for you, or replace your partner. My goal is to provide you with information as well as physical, emotional, and spiritual support so that you can feel confident walking into your birth. I have been told that I instinctively know how to support my clients, and that I am a calming presence. Due to my son's diagnosis, I am also a veteran at communicating with medical personnel and advocating for those in vulnerable situations. Reach out today to schedule a free interview (call, text, or message through the site)! I am happy to support clients regardless of birthing preferences, marital status, religion, etc. I am comfortable in hospitals, birthing centers, and in homes and will travel on a case-by-case basis. Congratulations on your pregnancy, and I look forward to hearing from you!

I am also super passionate about educating families and empowering you to be an advocate for yourself. I have been a birth doula for almost a two years now. Have helped about a dozen clients & it’s one of the best things I can do with my time. I have two kiddos myself, & after my first traumatic birth that’s when I knew I wanted to be a doula & help other mamas never had to go through something that traumatic if I could help it. My motto is holding space in the birth room wherever that is for you. 💕 I am on a little break from taking birth clients but I’m hoping to get back to it by early next year. Still love to chat & help with info as I can! Instagram is a great way to connect with me if you have any questions!

Aloha, parents! I’m Jenna Clarke. My husband & I have two beautiful daughters plus an adorable Miniature Schnauzer, and we all love to sleep. I was born and raised in Hawai’i, our girls were born in New Zealand (where my husband is from), and we recently moved to Lexington, Kentucky for a new adventure. I am an experienced pediatric sleep consultant, birth & postpartum doula, and advanced newborn care specialist. I truly believe that sleep is a foundation for our overall well being. Rested parent(s) and baby can recover quicker from birth, and the household is happier. You CAN get your child to sleep, and I can help. I have been coaching friends and clients for the past 13 years on how to achieve the sweet gift of sleep. It brings me so much joy because I know it is life-changing. For newborns, having a plan for establishing sleep hygiene and gently conditioning baby to sleep is important. For older infants, toddles and preschoolers, I utilize a range of methods (both responsive and traditional) to achieve your sleep goals. I meet with each of my clients to tailor an approach that resonates best with your parenting style and capacity. I provide virtual and in-home pediatric sleep consulting services to families across the country. Looking forward to working with you.

Over 10 years ago, I answered the call to be with women in the childbearing year. Becoming a doula was my 1st baby step on this most rewarding journey! I advanced through nursing school and gained critical medical knowledge and insight working within the industrial-medical-pharmaceutical-complex, all the while retaining my grounding in the natural power of beautifully supported women. I started attending homebirths as the primary assistant to the midwife in 2014. Between home, hospital, and free-standing birth center settings, I have been honored to attend around 300-400 births as a nurse so far. In my journey, I have worked closely with midwives, learning the art of breastfeeding and participating in passing along this skill from woman to woman, even in the case of serious difficulty. I've coached hundreds of clients from all around the United States on topics ranging from navigating the health care system while pregnant, preventing cesarean section, reducing their risk, and so much more! My saga is only just beginning, and I want to bring as many women and families along this path as I can. Health is freedom. Material knowledge is the currency of our times, but wisdom and intuition are what give knowledge power. I hope to impart my wisdom gained through experience to you, so you can apply this to your life, and do what you know is right in your heart and mind. I want to hold your hand as you take a quantum leap of faith… Faith in yourself, in your body’s design and designer…
