Hi, my name is Tara O'Neill, and I'm a certified professional midwife licensed in the state of Michigan. I believe that the role of a midwife is to provide informed, supportive, and attentive care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. In our practice, we recognize that each person and family is different and work to ensure that the care we provide meets the needs of each individual. We are committed to preserving client autonomy, and to ensuring that each client’s needs are met and that they are truly heard. In my free time, I enjoy spending time exploring the wonderful state of Michigan, reading, and spending time with loved ones.

Katie is a nationally board certified nurse midwife (CNM), certified professional midwife (CPM), and internationally board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC). She is partnered with another CNM as co-owners of the only CNM homebirth practice in Ohio, Wide Circles Holistic Midwifery. Katie has a foundation in the fields of reproductive and public health and has worked with women and birthing families in various roles since the late 1990s. Called to midwifery after her own community birth experience with nurse midwives at The Birthplace in Pittsburgh (now the Midwife Center for Birth and Women’s Health), she pursued training as a doula and childbirth educator before earning her BSN in 2008. She served in the field of public health in the roles of project director, clinical educator, and clinician for two sexual health and family planning clinics and completed her master's degree in nurse midwifery in 2016. Katie strongly supports empowered choice and bodily autonomy in all aspects of health and has been very intentional about specializing in low intervention community birth throughout her career as a midwife. She has supported families choosing out of hospital birth at an Amish and Mennonite birth center in Wayne County, Ohio since 2016 and is committed to serving as a preceptor for midwifery students pursuing community birth experiences whenever possible. A student of herbalism and integrative health, Katie weaves these practices throughout her midwifery work. Katie maintains certifications in BLS and NRP, and regularly attends Birth Emergency Skills Trainings (BEST) and other advanced community midwifery skills workshops.

I love helping women understand and awaken to their own power in birth. Babies profoundly benefit from their mothers feeling a sense of empowerment and freedom throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum. During this meaningful and normal physiological process, there is a hormonal orchestra that helps both mom and baby to dance and shift their way into each other's arms. My goal is to protect this space, offering a balance of privacy vs suggestions and guidance. Part of my expertise lies in recognizing and distinguishing normal from abnormal during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. It is an honor and privilege to walk beside families in their childbearing seasons and adjust care to fit individual needs.

Hello! My name is Staci and I am a homebirth midwife. We, my husband and 4 children, have lived in NEOHIO for about 7 years. As a homebirth midwife we are eager to to learn about the family and what moves them to birth at home. We walk with the family throughout pregnancy and give as much information as we can get our hands on to share with them so they can make informed decisions about their birth care. We do all of our visits and care in home. We spend an hour or more if needed at each visit. We cherish this time of intimacy. Health, through food, exercise, and herbs, is our utmost focus. We are continually trying to learn and grow and share with our clients all we can. Some clients prefer to have co-care with an OB OR nurse midwife while others want nothing to do with any hospital care (unless a case of transport). We love to customize our care to our individual families.

I never expected to be involved in birth work, yet five years later I am immersed in it loving every moment! My loving husband was the first person to educate me about my birth choices. His encouragement and the birth of my daughter are the reasons why I work in this field. While pregnant with my daughter I became very informed about my body and natural child birth/labor. I read countless books and watched many online videos. I did not realize my passion for birth work until I was asked to be a doula for the midwife who was serving me. She took me under her wing and started me on this journey and I have never looked back. Birth is one of the most sacred, compelling, beautiful, and healing events I have ever experienced. There is nothing compared to witnessing the birthing person bring forth a happy and healthy child. It is something I find incredibly joy-giving and satisfying. Labor In Love Midwifery seeks to serve birthing persons so that they can have a safe and healthy birth.
