Hi! I'm Tamiko. I'm the Advanced Newborn Care Specialist, Certified Postpartum Doula, and Sleep Expert for exhausted parents who want their babies to sleep all night so they can feel like themselves again. I help moms enjoy motherhood and have time for themselves once the baby is down for the night. Dads have reported waking energized with a new pep in their step after implementing my strategies. Since 2008, I've worked 24/7, rotational shifts for families who value privacy and discretion. I understand the unique needs of these families and the great finesse required to succeed in these positions. I enjoy working with families from all backgrounds and providing them with both daytime and overnight support as they transition into parenthood. I've helped over 1000 families (both online and in-person) gently teach their little ones to sleep. I also have lots of experience working with medically fragile babies (i.e. N/GJ/J tubes, sleep apnea, GERD, SGA, cardiac issues, etc.). In my free time, I enjoy baking delicious gluten-free desserts and hanging out with my sweet nephews. If you're looking for an experienced Doula or Newborn Care Specialist who's calm, a joy to be around, and goes with the flow, let's connect. I'm so excited to meet you and learn more about your family.

Hi, I'm Tamiko and I'm excited to support your family. I am a Postpartum Doula, Newborn Care Specialist, and Sleep Consultant serving Houston and surrounding areas. I provide both overnight and daytime care for growing families. Also, I’m happy to work a rotational schedule with other team members for those families wanting round-the-clock care. I currently have immediate availability and look forward to connecting with you.
We hired Tamiko so she could support us right when we got home. It was really in the beginning more about me getting sleep because I was recovering from a C-section and just really needed to rest and recover. And it was really, really crucial having Tamiko there in those early days right after we got back from the hospital to get the most sleep. With Tamiko's help, our daughter started at about six weeks just skipping, her two 3:00 AM feeding and she sleeps between 10 and 12 hours in a stretch every night now, so at two months. She helped create a plan so I can breastfeed and still get rest at night. Tamiko is easygoing and easy to get along with and it's nice having her around.

Our son was born 1 month early, had silent reflux and he was pretty much crying all day. I never realized how tired my son actually was. His schedule was so chaotic and he was not sleeping at all. Tamiko helped me realize why he was crying and what he needed from us. She joined us when my son was 10 weeks and changed our lives. Our son now sleeps 12 hours at night and he's a much happier baby with the schedule that he's on. Tamiko is an all-around great person who is very confident in her work. I recommend to her anyone who has a baby because what she done for my family is amazing!

My son was diagnosed with a bad case of silent reflux and we just assumed good sleep was something that was lost for our family until he outgrew his reflux. But then we met Tamiko! I never thought my son would be able to sleep without me or my husband bouncing on an exercise ball for what seemed like forever each time or holding him upright for hours to make sure his reflux would not wake him up in pain. After working with Tamiko for just a few days, we can lay our son in his crib at night and after a few minutes of talking to himself, he is fast asleep. I tell my husband often, THANK GOODNESS for Tamiko. If it were not for her help and support, we would be stuck in an endless battle with that darn exercise ball :)

When we hired Tamiko, we were looking for someone to work nights for our 3-month-old son. We wanted someone who could help implement techniques to get our baby sleeping through the night and allow us to get uninterrupted rest! We also were seeking advice and knowledge on best structuring our baby's routine, nap troubleshoots, and feeding help. I can list many valuable things that Tamiko did for our family, but the most impactful things that she did was gently care for our baby and implement techniques and advice to get him to sleep 12 hours a night. Her amount of knowledge and experience came in handy every day, especially for us first-time parents. She is extremely qualified and intelligent, and this paired with her kindness and compassion, made us undoubtedly trust her with our baby. I was always extremely comfortable knowing she was taking the best care of our son, which is a priceless feeling.

Tamiko worked for us as a 24x7 NCS from January through March, 2020. My daughter, Ariya, was born small for gestational age (SGA) weighing just 4 pounds, 1 ounce at near term. Given her small size, she needed to be fed every 3 hours for the entirety of Tamiko's assignment. My daughter would breast feed first and then receive a supplemental bottle at every feeding, 8 times a day. This double feeding routine was both time consuming and exhausting, and Tamiko was expertly able to meet the demands of such a grueling schedule. When a concern arose in regard to my daughter's health, she even administered a blood prick test using a device she was not familiar with in the middle of the night; she was willing and able to take on such challenging requests. Tamiko was extremely professional at all times and was never intrusive while living in our home, which we greatly appreciated. She was very knowledge about Issues that arose during her tenure as well such as persistent diaper rash. She could identify if the rash was due to yeast, regular rash, etc. to help us to find the proper solution. She even made a custom batch of her own cream when the others did not seem to work adequately! She was also insightful in helping us to find specific products for my daughter's care including bottle types, breast pumps, sleeping devices, travel gear, etc. Tamiko was likewise resourceful in putting me in touch with a lactation consultant when I faced issues with my milk supply to help get me back on track, which I did! She was encouraging during difficult periods, which enabled me to keep my resolve and determination, especially in regards to breast-feeding. Tamiko was also very versatile about her environment, easily adapting to trips to our second home. Lastly, she was very helpful in attending to my older son's needs while I breast fed my daughter. She would play with him, read to him, get on his pajamas, and even take him to the potty! It was a tremendous relief to have this assistance when my husband was out of town. Tamiko would also watch my son's monitor to keep an eye on him, which allowed my husband and I to go out to dinner without having a babysitter. This was above and beyond her duties as a NCS since she was not responsible for the care of my son. For all these reasons and more, I would highly recommend her to any expectant parents!
