Congratulations on this exciting new journey! I am a birth and postpartum doula in Pocatello, and serve the surrounding areas. My goal is to make you feel empowered in this time of your life. I want you to feel confident in your abilities and whatever choices you make surrounding birth. I believe that birth is a normal physiological process. It does not need to be a medical event, and is rarely an emergency. Our society has forgotten how to best educate and support families in this exciting time. Birth is meant to be intimate, but our current care system doesn’t treat it that way. I’ve felt a calling to be a birth and postpartum doula as a way to connect with generations of women before me. Birth is one of the most vulnerable experiences a woman will ever have. I am honored to be allowed into the inner circle while holding each mother as she is born and gives birth to new life. Becoming a mother is the single best thing that has ever happened to me. I also think it is the hardest thing I will ever do. I’ve been passionate about serving women in pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period since my first pregnancy. My husband and I have five children—four girls and one boy. We spent eight years in Utah raising our family before relocating to Pocatello in 2020. I grew up in Utah in the Salt Lake Valley where I received my Bachelors degree in English from the University of Utah. I have connected with childbirth and pregnancy since I was a little girl. Birth was amazing to me and I knew that I wanted to be in the delivery room helping women. I was fortunate to learn about and find a doula for my first child. Having a doula was life changing, and the support and love I felt will never be forgotten. I loved her so much that I had her back with my second child. I am excited to be able to offer my services as a doula to other women.

I became a Birthing Instructor because I believe so strongly that women are rockstars. We are capable of so much. Through learning and discovery about your body and its innate abilities, you can have the confidence that you can have an empowering birth. I want to give couples the knowledge they need to make informed decisions and find the care they deserve. I want partners to feel special and included in the birth. I have four beautiful boys and I have had four completely different births! Because of that, I have seen that it doesn’t matter where you birth, it matters HOW you birth. With education, practice and confidence, you can have a satisfying pregnancy, labor and delivery! What does “Kindacrunchy”mean? I have discovered a passion for essential oils, herbs, homeopathy, non-toxic living, etc. I’m not all these things all the time however. We sometimes eat whole foods/ organic, I live for chiropractic care but I’ll pop an occasional Tylenol (migraines are my nemesis). I prefer disposable diapers to cloth and I love me some co-sleeping/babywearing. I’m learning how to make sourdough and kombucha on my own and constantly learning. So….kinda crunchy for the win! My intentions are just to share the things that I’ve learned and have made my family and I strong. I want you to feel capable knowing you can care for yourself and your family.
