Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am the owner of Liberty Doula Services based out of Liberty Township, OH. I am also a certified doula and mother of four children. I have a license and Masters in Social Work and prior to becoming a doula, I spent 14 years working as a social worker in the community. While I loved getting to know and work with families, my passion lies in helping and supporting women and families in all stages of pregnancy and early parenthood. After having four unique births of my own, ranging from a hospital induction to a home birth, I realized there is a lack of continuous support for women in our society specifically related to pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum periods. I believe there are many missed opportunities to help set families up for success, starting with pregnancy and extending through the rest of their lives. I also enjoy yoga, herbalism, vegan food, and wholistic health. I’m not new to care taking, I Have 10 Nieces and Nephews and I’ll always say my younger sister was my first baby. However, it was through my first born that I was reborn myself. While pregnant, I gained a passion for birthwork and gardening. I began to understand the importance of getting connected with earth’s essence and supporting each seed towards their fullest potential. In gardening, each seed knows exactly what to do when given the right environment to flourish. I believe in that philosophy for birthing people. Baker has made it her mission to cultivate safe spaces for growing families and bridge the gaps in healthcare education for patients and clients alike. In 2011 Dr. Baker earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Emory University. In 2016, she acquired her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of Dayton. After years of practice as a pelvic floor therapist, Dr. Baker took a leap of faith and changed the way she does PT. She went mobile, with a special target for pelvic floor patients. With multiple requests for birth assistance from patients, she became a certified Doula backed by experience supporting new mothers with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, geriatric pregnancy, and VBAC. As “The Doula PT”, Dr. Alicia actively engages within her community to guide women in ways to live and birth with confidence through pelvic floor therapy and birth support.
