I hang my fanny pack in Edgewater where I live with my fiance, Mercedes, a deep-hearted middle school teacher I'm spellbound by, and with whom I share the creative practice called home. As a doula, photographer, and writer I am a safe keeper and storyteller of what it means to be, become, and belong. I have a BA in Gender Studies, am a certified full spectrum doula and childbirth educator, and am a member of the Queer Doula Network. I've presented and published research on the intersections of sexuality, gender, and queer culture, and been shown in art exhibitions in the midwest. My career background is in reproductive health and non profits as an educator, direct care professional, and in state policy and project management. I’ve held hands, protest signs, pelvis models, newborns, and once, an overwhelmed mother-in-law. I’ve wrapped swaddles around babies, my sister’s postpartum belly in her kitchen after her third (and last) baby was born, and warm towels over the shoulders of those in labor as they step out of a birthing tub. My practice invites you to be tender and curious, honoring your right to be who you are as you are; nurturing the truth that you are the expert of your own experience and knowledge building is a collaborative mixture of education, experience, and intuition.

I’m a Christian wife, mother, and RN who discovered a passion for birth work after having my own babies. While I study towards becoming a midwife, I take on a light load clients as a birth doula. As a birth doula and student midwife, I have the most experience in attending unmedicated labors and do prefer to work with women who have this goal. However, I do still attend medicated births, planned or unplanned. I help my clients experience true informed consent so that they are empowered in their birth choices. As a proud veteran of the United States Navy, Andrea's journey took her from North Carolina to Virginia to Illinois with her family in 2021. Her passion lies in guiding and empowering mothers to embrace their breastfeeding experience, providing heartfelt support to help them nourish their babies with the extraordinary gift of breastmilk, no matter their feeding choices. I have been teaching Childbirth Education and Breastfeeding for the past 11 years. I am a Mom of 6, a Nana to 3, a Registered Nurse and an IBCLC. I work at a large hospital healthcare system, Advocate Aurora Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL. Though our hospital classes are still virtual, I do also teach private classes in your home or other venue of your choice. (I am fully vaccinated and boosted). Meet Tiffany Evidence Based Birth© Instructor, SMC Certified Doula, Certified Lactation Specialist, 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher in Kemetic and Vinyasa yoga, 100 hr Certified Meditation Teacher and a French Intensive aromatherapy practitioner. Since getting her Master in Early Childhood Development degree in 2020, Tiffany has been to several births during the pandemic and serviced scores of families as a postpartum doula. In her capacity as a doula, she believes in providing families with evidence-based answers to their questions. She offers meditations and affirmations for parents to build confidence in their abilities. Along with her book Mindful Minutes for Mothers, she uses tonics and oils to aid in healing.
