Hi everyone! My experience with birth started with my first birth: my son was born peacefully at home in the water. I fell in love with birth right away, and began taking doula classes. My approach to prenatal, labor, and postpartum care is mother and family centered. I’ve also trained in labor massage, Ayurvedic postpartum nutrition, childbirth education, and as a lactation educator and placenta specialist. Hello! My name is Angel McGinn and I have worked as a Registered Nurse for the past 15 years. My favorite positions were the ones I held as a Postpartum and/or Labor and Delivery nurse. I love being with families as they transition into parenthood and/or continue to grow their families. I’ve worked in many different areas of nursing, but decided to step away from the hospital to pursue my dream of becoming a Doula and being able to provided 1:1 client care. Additionally, I struggled with breastfeeding both of my boys, which prompted me obtain my CLC -lactation certification, so that I could be of assistance others in their chest/breastfeeding journey. Being a Doula is a new role for me, but this work is 100% aligned with what I believe I was made for. I have always wanted to be able to provide care at this level, so this transition has been like a dream come true for me! I am married and this year will be our 12th wedding anniversary in September. We have three children together and my husband has two from a previous marriage that are now young adults. Our two boys are 11 and 2 and we have a sweet baby girl that lives in heaven. We also are animal lovers with two Siamese cats and a Colie dog:)

I have also been a newborn nanny to multiple families. I fell in love the women’s health/OBGYN/labor and delivery when I started as a medical assistant 4 years ago and was a medical assistant for 2 years at a women’s clinic and fell in love with the women’s clinic and got to shadow over 10 births by the midwives and OB’s at the clinic. I am currently applying for nursing school to become a labor and delivery nurse but wanted to be active in this field of work right now, so this is where I decided to become a birth doula.
