I stumbled into the role of birth attendant in my early twenties by being the peace bringer and atmosphere regulator to all my girlfriends who were having babies. I gave birth to my first just a month after turning 17 and had the wonderful favor of a peaceful birth attendant who did more than rock my hips during labor, she strengthened my resolve and spoke to my body directly, encouraging through the rough parts and tuned my heart to find joy even in the pain. Ever since then I've found myself cultivating a knowledge set that would help women through the many trials of pregnancy, labor and post partum. This is more than a job for me, this is a calling. And every woman who has entered my care becomes a life long sister in birth.

I am a mother of 2 beautiful children. My daughter was born in the Fall of 2020, and I felt like life had failed to prepare me for all things birth related. I knew nothing about pregnancy, birth, or postpartum. I had dreamt for years about getting pregnant, and I wanted nothing more than to be a mom. When it finally happened, I felt so unprepared. I was confused why my friends on social media looked like they had it all together. How did they look so well rested after having baby? How did they not have any problems with labor? How did they look so happy pregnant? How come their baby is latching and mine isn’t? It took me months, a supportive partner, and an amazing counselor to realize that I was normal. These are things that a lot of parents deal with, and I am here to tell you, that is okay!
