You find yourself anxiously checking your ovulation calendar and the words "Not Pregnant" pierce you. Maybe you appear to love this new motherhood gig but question whether this is really for you. Perhaps the hope of being a parent is lost after the death of a child. You find it hard to ask for help. You feel alone. You're having trouble remembering who you were before all this. Your patience is paper thin and the anger feels uncontrollable. The intrusive thoughts can be overwhelming, and your tears can be turned on and off like a bathroom sink. This shit is hard. You thought this was supposed to be the happiest time of your life. I specialize in treating women adjusting to challenges related to pregnancy or motherhood. The journey to motherhood and beyond isn’t always smooth sailing. I want to help women fight unrealistic expectations and embrace being imperfect; to feel empowered, not powerless. I enjoy using humor and compassion to help clients work through challenges. During my own postpartum experience, I found myself drowning in depression and anxiety and wearing a fake smile most days. I know what it's like to feel lost, but you too can find yourself again. My goal is to help create a safe, nonjudgmental space for women to heal and be heard. "You are not a mess, you are a feeling person, in a messy world". G. Doyle
Taryn is really approachable and helps support me during the parenthood phase of life. She connected me to resources, shared guidance, and her use of humor makes sessions really valuable.
