Helping a family welcome their little ones into the world is the most rewarding work! I was a former L&D nurse, in one of the Twin Cities most acute care settings, when I had to make decision to leave the bedside and prioritize my family's needs. Now I'm back and chose to return to birth work as a birth doula and lactation consultant. I started DoulaCare Minnesota so that I can use my years of clinical, training and business experiences to create a community that is respectful, supportive and empowering to families of types. Our motto is YOUR BIRTH EXPERIENCE. YOUR WAY. I would love to support you in creating your joyful birth story.

Your friendly neighborhood birth doula here to support YOUR birth! Daisy Doula MN attends hospitals, birth centers, and home births. A doula works alongside you in the prenatal, birthing time, and postpartum. I am a birth doula residing in South Minneapolis. I have a lot of interests and passions that led me to find birthwork. I find it perfectly intersects science and data, bodywork and movement, direct advocacy, and human connection. I love to laugh and cry with you, holding space for your emotions and experiences. I enjoy sharing my knowledge while being curious about everything I don’t know. After completing a B.S. at the University of Minnesota and a stint living in France, I started working as a consultant for our local utility companies, implementing an energy efficiency program for new home construction. By this time I was deep into a yoga practice and took a yoga teacher training at Yess Yoga in 2018. I learned so much and it exposed me to many holistic practices within the 8 limbs of yoga. Meanwhile, my all-female consulting team started expecting. They would come to the office with so much new information and questions after doctor/midwife appointments, not to mention what everyone was saying on the internet! I was so curious about it all! I discovered what a doula was and that people did it as a profession. Not long after I am happy to say I found a doula training and haven’t looked back.
Saint Paul, Minnesota
My name is Maggie Mau, and I am a mom of two girls and two very sweet rescue pups, Hopper and Eleven. My partner is a longtime teacher for Saint Paul Public Schools and we have lived in the South Como neighborhood in Saint Paul for the last 15 years! As a family we enjoy camping, hiking and exploring our country’s beautiful national parks. It is not odd to find us hammocking up at Como park, picking mulberries and reading :) I enjoy running, gardening, reading and baking and hosting regular gatherings of family and friends. I have been in the Twin Cities nonprofit sector my whole career, and the passion that I feel for the success of individuals and families in our community is now being carried forward in a different, but equally important way – through the support and empowerment of families as they navigate their birth journeys. I believe in leading with empathy and deep listening, in order to best support families to create their own powerful birth experiences. I feel humbled and honored to be able to share space and offer support to you - the amazing parents and parents to be!
Shakopee, Minnesota
Hi, I'm Anne! I'm an RN who has worked in OB and/or academia (NA, LPN, RN programs) for over 35 years, and an IBCLC since 2009. My passion is for helping parents to have the support, knowledge, and resources for feeding success, however they choose to feed their little one. I value keeping parents in the drivers seat, providing knowledge and skill from the many lactation courses, conferences, and workshops I've attended. I pride myself on keeping current and providing robust resources, so that after I leave you feel confident in being able to implement the plan we developed. There is never one "right" way to feed or parent your little. Together we will come up with the plan that is right for you and your baby. Common topics covered in consults include prenatal lactation consults (first time breast milk feeders or those who had issues with previous littles), prenatal breastfeeding 1:1 classes, sore nipples, engorgement, latch difficulties, assessments for tethered oral tissues (ties), suck training pre- and post- tie releases, pumping issues (flange sizes, checking how pump is working, etc.), low milk supply, oversupply, plugged ducts/blebs, and bottling difficulties. I have a kind, calm, gentle approach that accommodates what baby is telling us. I am an LGBTQI+ ally, and have helped lesbian, transgender, and gay parents with feeding issues. I'd love to connect!
