Your friendly neighborhood birth doula here to support YOUR birth! Daisy Doula MN attends hospitals, birth centers, and home births. A doula works alongside you in the prenatal, birthing time, and postpartum. I am a birth doula residing in South Minneapolis. I have a lot of interests and passions that led me to find birthwork. I find it perfectly intersects science and data, bodywork and movement, direct advocacy, and human connection. I love to laugh and cry with you, holding space for your emotions and experiences. I enjoy sharing my knowledge while being curious about everything I don’t know. After completing a B.S. at the University of Minnesota and a stint living in France, I started working as a consultant for our local utility companies, implementing an energy efficiency program for new home construction. By this time I was deep into a yoga practice and took a yoga teacher training at Yess Yoga in 2018. I learned so much and it exposed me to many holistic practices within the 8 limbs of yoga. Meanwhile, my all-female consulting team started expecting. They would come to the office with so much new information and questions after doctor/midwife appointments, not to mention what everyone was saying on the internet! I was so curious about it all! I discovered what a doula was and that people did it as a profession. Not long after I am happy to say I found a doula training and haven’t looked back.

Everyone receives a free doula inquiry interview. Typically held online for up to 1 hour. You can request to meet in person. Prenatal Visits- The foundational work starts at our prenatal visits. During our 2 sessions before birth, we work together to discover your unique needs and preferences, body prep, and plan for postpartum recovery and support. On Call Time- Your guess date (aka due date) is just that, a guess! I am on-call for you starting at 37 weeks until your birth. I am available by phone 24/7 until it is time for in-person support. I stay with you until your baby is born and you are settled in with your new baby. Postpartum Visits- I offer 2 postpartum visits! On the first visit, I try to come over in the first few days at home, where we can look at a feeding, check in on your healing, and discuss the birth.
Maria was an amazing source of support, wisdom, and 5 hours of hip squeezes! My husband and I felt so confident and prepared for childbirth (as much as you can as first time parents) due to Maria’s guidance throughout the pregnancy. From day 1, Maria was comfortable and fun to work with! We cannot recommend her enough.

We were so happy to have Maria as our doula at our daughter's birth at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury. As first-time parents, it was so reassuring to have Maria as a resource during pregnancy and postpartum as well as present at her birth. Knowing that Maria was there to advocate for us and having someone so familiar with what was taking place allowed us to really focus on the birth of our daughter and not have to worry so much about every little thing that was happening throughout labor. Her presence allowed us to really be in the moment and made us feel secure and taken care of. Initially, we were not sure that we really needed a doula but looking back we are so happy that Maria was with us as a knowledgeable resource, advocate, and caring member of our birth team.
