Nurturing and care giving is in my nature. I am specifically drawn to women and the transition into motherhood. I felt the call to birth work after attending the birth of my first nephew. I completed my Holistic Doula training in 2019 then had a child of my own in 2021 which taught me about the real depths of birth and motherhood. My goal as a birth worker is to nurture the autonomy and intuition of parents. I will teach you how to support yourself and will empower you to make informed decisions about your pregnancy and birth because every experience is unique. I will provide evidence-based education and unbiased support because every birth deserves to be seen and respected. I will help you feel grounded and will help you navigate this exciting time (that can also be overwhelming!). I want you to feel confident in your decisions and will advocate for you and the birth you deserve. I approach my work with great passion and a continued awe of how magical birth is. I hope to inspire in you what I already know to be true: You’ve got this!

I grew up in the high desert hills of Reno, Nevada, but as a wanderer at heart, spent many years traveling and living abroad until I landed in New York City. I worked in NYC for 7 years and am now based in Reno again as of March 2022. I am continually inspired by the landscapes of the desert and the sea! I first discovered the power of mind-body medicine through Yoga after spine surgery as a teen, which influenced my search for effective care in my own struggle with reproductive health issues. This search brought me to the study of ancient healing modalities as well as nutrition, herbal medicine and energy work. I earned a master’s degree in Integrative Health Studies, with a focus on women’s/reproductive health, at the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2015 (my master’s thesis was about infertility and spirituality). Doula work came as natural complement to my master's program as I had been supporting children and families since I was a child, nannying my way through high school and college. I initially signed up for a doula training as a way to learn more about birth culture and supporting pregnancy, but after attending my first birth knew that it was a perfect blend of all of my interests and skills. Studying and sharing fertility and pregnancy wellbeing is my passion! My goal is to offer a calm, unbiased presence and to facilitate positive reproductive experiences by connecting people to practical, evidence-based information as well as their own inner wisdom. I look forward to meeting you!

Hi I’m Demitra. I am Nationally Licensed Massage therapist and have an associates in occupation therapy. Tending to the bodies’ systems has always been something that drew me in, and I’ve been practicing since 2015. While in school for body work, I was also immersed in Birth and Postpartum Doula training and received a Certificate in Childbirth Education. La Matrona is focused on Holistic Birth and Traditional Doula and Midwifery Arts focuses on integrating Indiginous practices and holistic care. The weaving of my passion for the physical body and being of service to the spiritual walk, met in my role in Prenatal, Birth and Postpartum care. My belief and value is that every moment in life is to be honored and acknowledged. Ritual, prayer and ceremony are a major influence in the way I tend to those I love, and the spaces I hold. Since then I have given birth at home to two vibrant beings, and my focus has been on raising them for the last few years. They have been my greatest teachers and encourage me to embody the belief in the family unit being one of the most precious resources we have.

Natalie is a Birth and Postpartum Doula, who supports families throughout their parenting journey. She believes we can change how women have babies through education and being close to our mothers. As a midwest girl she holds family values close to her heart. She has 3 daughters that like to keep her on her toes. Her husband has served in the military for 13 years, taking them all over the world. Most recently they lived in Japan where she had the pleasure of delivering her youngest. It was a laboring experience like no other. Being left to labor and relax until she was ready to have her was the most healing birth experience. This healing for herself lit a fire in her. She wanted other women to trust their bodies and have the confidence she had gained. Becoming a birth and postpartum doula was her way of serving women. She is a member of the Military Birth Resource Network, JANZ Moms, and the Tricare Network. On the weekend you can find her hiking or off roading in the desert. She and her family love to adventure where the roads end!
