Hey there! My name is Naomi Carrington. I am a Certified Birth and Postpartum doula, Breastfeeding Counselor and Childbirth Educator in Louisburg, serving the greater Triangle area. I'm passionate about childbirth, mamas, and babies, and I've dedicated my life to helping families experience a birth and postpartum beyond their expectations. Birth does not have to be seen as a fearful thing, but something women were designed for. I help my clients prepare both their minds and bodies for labor and offer full informed support of their choices. Knowledge is power and a big part of what I do. Over the years, I have attended over 60 births and taught several classes. In my free time you can find me reading, working out, sipping a coffee, enjoying fresh air or cooking in the kitchen. I am from a big family and love making memories with them!

This includes pregnancy, birth and postpartum education, prenatal care, forming birth goals and practicing labor positions and comfort techniques. We will also discuss your health history, birth setting options and birthing methods. I promote nutritious eating, and mental as well as physical preparedness so that you can have the best possible birth and healthy baby. I am available by phone from the day you hire me- don’t hesitate to call/text/email about any questions in between appointments. I go full time on-call at 37 weeks of your pregnancy. Postpartum Doula-- I will assess your family's needs, offer recommendations and help you recover from birth physically and emotionally. I offer breastfeeding assistance, hands-on newborn-care and education and help families establish a new routine that best meets their needs. Mothers are encouraged to repair their bodies with healing nutrient-dense foods and after a few months, safe strengthening and toning exercises. Women who hire a postpartum doula experience little to no postpartum depression. We decided to use a doula kind of last minute and we chose to work with Naomi. I’m so happy we did! It was my first time giving birth and she really helped ease my anxiety and helped me a lot prepping before labor and after birth! She is so sweet and very easy to work with. I highly recommend :).

As a first-time mom, I had concerns and questions during pregnancy, for labor, and into the early days of postpartum. Naomi was helpful in making sure different needs I had were met. I appreciated her care, support and patience with me during my labor. I appreciated having a support person near during labor who made me feel confident to stick to how I envisioned my birth. I am thankful for the help I’ve received transitioning into motherhood as naomi helped with meal prep, cleaning, baby wearing and breastfeeding.

Working with Naomi was an amazing experience. She helped equip us with the information we needed to succeed in having a natural birth. From our first meeting to the labor itself Naomi’s peaceful demeanor made us feel at ease and in good hands. Naomi knew exactly what we needed and when we needed it as far as providing comfort measures throughout my long labor. She never inserted her opinion and always made us feel empowered and confident in our decisions. She was truly a selfless servant throughout the labor process and her heart for serving mothers and bringing children into the world was clearly evident and a display of how God calls us all to serve. She will always hold a special place in our lives and we will never forget the love and care she showed us. We look forward to working with her again.

Naomi was the biggest blessing during labor. She was kind and gentle, yet confident and bold when needed. She is extremely knowledgeable in what she does. Will definitely use her again my next birth.
