About the class
This Childbirth Class builds mother’s and father’s confidence in birth and parenting. Mother's love the class, but father's leave mid blown- now they know specifically what labor entails and how they can support their women. You will be introduced to everything you need to know and what you might expect. We discuss beliefs around birth, hormones in labor and beyond, the stages of labor, comfort measures, coping with labor, birth and newborn plans, health and exercise as well as postpartum and breastfeeding. You will get a good grasp of what labor and birth is and how you can respond to all the changes that come with parenting! You will not only learn, but practice positions, comfort measures together, breastfeeding positions and the right way to swaddle a baby. This is an interactive class including activities, workbooks, comments and lively discussion.

Hey there! My name is Naomi Carrington. I am a Certified Birth and Postpartum doula, Breastfeeding Counselor and Childbirth Educator in Louisburg, serving the greater Raleigh Triangle area. I'm passionate about childbirth, mamas, and babies, and I've dedicated my life to helping families experience a birth and postpartum beyond their expectations. Birth does not have to be seen as a fearful thing, but something women were designed for. Living overseas has helped to shape who I am today and the services I offer. Over the past few years I have mainly attended home births which is my 'happy place'. But no matter where you plan to deliver, I guide my clients in preparing both their minds and bodies for labor and offer full informed support of their choices. A few things that I impart to families are: education, the importance of body balancing, whole food diet and mental preparedness. Knowledge is power and a big part of what I do. Over the years, I have attended over 65 births and taught several classes. In my free time you can find me reading, working out, enjoying an iced coffee, working in the garden, with our many animals or cooking in the kitchen. I am from a big family and love making memories with them! I'd love to connect and discuss how we can meet your goals for your dream birth, postpartum or class experience!
