About me

I usually say I accidentally fell into the field of birth work, but I guess that's not totally true. After spending a decade abroad running a foster home/cardiac surgery program for babies with complex congenital heart defects and maternal/fetal health programs for at-risk indigenous families, I unexpectedly found myself stuck in New York City in early 2020, waiting out this little bug called "Covid-19" that was shutting borders all around the world... I certified as a birth & postpartum doula in the USA in 2020, to be with my best friend for the birth of her first child in the midst of Covid protocols. I never could have imagined how much I would fall in love with birthwork here in the United States and it is the greatest honor to walk alongside families as they grow and change (in whatever capacity!), providing unbiased & judgment-free support, advocacy, guidance, and care during such intimate and pivotal moments.

Service introduction

I spent a decade in and out of hospitals, caring and advocating for the sickest of sick little babies, and they feel a bit like a second home for me now. I believe that every birth is a beautiful birth, no matter the method. I am grateful and thrilled to support unmedicated, medicated, c-section, and VBAC births. One of my greatest joys is getting to walk with families who are expecting a child with special needs, and am comfortable with supporting families with the full spectrum of pediatric medical interventions post delivery, from NICU stays, to tube feedings, or even oxygen therapy or trach care. I love working with families of all shapes and sizes and all methods of family-building. From IVF to adoption to surrogacy and beyond, I am thrilled to support you and your growing family in whatever miraculous way it is coming to be. From total birth and postpartum support packages to one-off consultation calls, I am here to provide empathy, understanding, advocacy, and support in whatever area you are hoping to find. I believe that postpartum support is just as important as prenatal and birth support, so I am thrilled to offer "Fourth Trimester" packages to my families. I provide both daytime and overnight support packages because a supported and well-rested family is one that thrives. I am a certified lactation consultant and am always excited to help my clients with their breastfeeding goals, while also being fully in support of those for whom breastfeeding may not be possible or the right choice. Similarly, I love to support families in the months leading up to delivery. I offer one on one coaching, custom birth plan curation, registry guidance, and an empathetic ear as you prepare for this new life joining your own. As a certified grief/trauma doula, pro bono services are offered for families experiencing a stillbirth.
