Hello birthing parents! My name is Linda May. I am an experienced doula ( over 12 years ), with a passion for helping clients who have experienced birth trauma. Congratulations on beginning your journey into motherhood! As a mother of four babies I remember what an exciting but also a little frightening time this is. I love being a doula because I can help women decrease their fear and turn it into empowerment. My background as a nurse helps me to understand the scientific evidence that shows having a doula as part of your birth decreases labour times and the need for interventions. It is wonderful that you’ve been able to reach out and find support. As Ina May Gaskin said, we are not lemons! I strongly resonate with her belief that we were created to birth, and it would be my honour to support you and help give you the birth that you are looking for, whatever that means for you. Sincerely, Linda May. Ps. Please bear with me with regards to my social media presence! I am in the process of updating everything including my website. Anything you wish to know please do not hesitate to contact me directly. (519)852-4064

Pregnancy and birth outside of the medical system is where my heart lies, and so I would be beyond happy to support you in your free birth/unassisted birth. I am also a large advocate on trauma-informed care, fat inclusivity and positivity. I am also Health at Every Size Informed. I believe there is so much non-evidence based information surrounding being pregnant and giving birth in a bigger body. Please feel free to reach out to me! I would love to chat.

I have always felt deeply connected to supporting families during vulnerable and transformative moments in their lives. The postpartum period is such a tender, powerful time filled with love, adjustment, exhaustion, and growth. I was drawn to this practice because I want to be a calm, steady presence for families as they transition into parenthood. There is something incredibly meaningful about supporting parents in those quiet overnight hours when emotions can feel heavier and rest feels out of reach. I’m drawn to the intimacy and trust involved in caring for both parent and baby during that sacred window of time.

I am a birth and postpartum doula, here to support you and help you advocate for the birth you want and deserve! My motto is "Women helping women" and I strive to do exactly that!
