Kahla was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She is a wife and mother of three, one daughter and two sons, ages 13, 7, and 3. Kahla's own experience during the birth of her first child led her to discover her passion for supporting others on their journey through pregnancy, birth and beyond. After a somewhat traumatic first birth experience, Kahla and her husband made the decision to hire a doula for their second child's birth. It was during this experience that Kahla recognized the profound impact a doula can have on the birthing process. Her newfound passion for empowering and supporting expectant mothers and families led her to become a doula herself in 2017. Kahla completed her Doula Training Course through DONA International. In the seven years since, Kahla has been a steadfast presence in the Jacksonville birth community serving families in hospital, home and birth center settings. She understands the profound, life long impact of childbirth experiences. Kahla has supported over 100 families as they brought new life into the world, with many more expectant mothers awaiting her support. Her heartfelt passion knows no bounds. Hello there! My name is Rachel Sultzer and I am a Certified Lactation Counselor, Certified Breastfeeding Educator and Certied Postpartum and Infant Care Doula located in Jacksonville, Florida. My passion for child and family care stems from my start as a childcare provider over twenty (20) years ago. Most recently my role as full time nanny quickly reaffirmed my strength in not only caring for infants and small children, but providing comprehensive family support - especially to new and nursing mothers. After serving as a volunteer “Infant Cuddler” for at-risk infants at the UF Shands neonatal intensive care unit, my dedication to helping children was deepened even more. After watching one of my mamas struggle with breastfeeding and experience first hand the the lack of support and education from the community of people surrounding her, I knew I wanted to do more to help; I had to do more. In July 2017 I received my Lactation Counselor Certification from Healthy Children Project Inc., Center for Breastfeeding. Under the guidance and mentor-ship of Kelly Googe, with Womb to World Doula Services, I have been able to work with lots of mamas in the Jacksonville area. As a Certified Lactation Counselor and Certified Breastfeeding Educator my mission is to educate the public on the importance of breastfeeding; to encourage and empower women to make decisions that work for them and to provide guidance and support during a such a delicate but amazing time in a mama’s life. My motto will always be a happy and healthy mama will always equal a happy and healthy family! As a caregiver I have seen so many families struggle during the fourth (4th) trimester, defined as the first twelve (12) weeks after birth, and even beyond. As a Cerified Postpartum and Infant Care Doula and a Certified Lactation Counselor I strive to enable your family to find confidence by providing everyone with non-judgmental unwavering support, evidence based education and most importantly listening ears. My goal is to validate concerns, provide solutions, and offer guidance based on your family’s needs. I want all of my families to feel supported during the fourth (4th) trimester and beyond. Adding a new little one to the mix can be as equally rewarding and challenging. Let me be there to guide and support you through your new normal! My role is not limited to just mamas and their babies; I am also there to aid the entire family with this new and exciting transition.

I have lived in Florida all my life. My happy place is by the ocean listening to the waves. I am married to my college sweetheart and we have 3 beautiful, wild boys. I became fascinated by the magic and mechanics of birth during my first pregnancy in 2013. I had an emergency c-section followed by medicated and unmedicated vaginal births in 2016 and 2019. For all three, I had the same doula by my side sharing her 30+ years of wisdom. In 2023, I formalized my training and certifications and have been focusing on doula work full-time. Aside from parenting my sons, it is my biggest privilege and joy to serve mothers in this vulnerable time, and I look forward to knowing and serving you during your journey. I strongly believe it is the right of the birthing person to choose whatever path is right for them. Every body, baby and pregnancy is different. If you choose me to be by your side, my promise is to help you and your partner bring that vision to life. Knowing birth can be unpredictable, I will do everything I can to ensure you feel safe, loved, empowered and strong every step of the way. I would love to talk with you about your wishes for your birth. Get in touch with me today to set up a free consultation.
