She received her certificate as community-based doula at Black Mothers Breastfeeding Association (BMBFA) in 2018 and trained as a full circle doula with Shafia Monroe Consulting, 2022. In January 2023, Lorenda became a Medicaid Provider as a doula, and trains other doulas to become Medicaid providers for the state of Michigan. As a leader, Lorenda serves on the Doula Advisory Council with the State of Michigan and is the president at Motor City Doula Association where she leads monthly meet ups with other doulas in the community.
