Certified Lactation Counselor, Stillbirthday Birth & Bereavement Doula The strength of the woman's mind and body amazes me. My passion is empowering women, allowing their strengths to shine, and supporting their needs while counseling them through their desired journey. Growing, birthing, and sustaining a tiny human is hard work! Maybe you are a first-time mom hoping to learn the best birth or breastfeeding techniques. Or perhaps, you already have children and need support and ideas to get you through the next hurdle. Each journey is unique and has various twists and turns, many of which I have observed or experienced firsthand. I can provide you with the empowerment, support, and the guidance you need in these very cherished moments. As a mom, I understand these worries and questions. I was once in your shoes. I was the mom hoping for a birth experience that was different from my first, one that allowed my voice to be heard, and to be informed in my choices. I was the mom who struggled to nurse my new baby each day due to a painful latch, worried it wouldn't improve. These struggles became passion. I educated myself and became a doula and lactation counselor, which has allowed me to proactively support other moms on their journey.

Hi there! I’m Natalie - a Registered Nurse, Certified Lactation Counselor, and a mom to three kiddos. I worked in labor and delivery/postpartum for 4 years and now work in Pediatrics in a clinic setting. My passion is helping mothers find their own, unique path into motherhood, while keeping the roots of who they are. I enjoy helping mothers feel confident with breastfeeding, however that may look for them: latching baby at breast, exclusively pumping, combo feeding, supplementing formula, etc - or even helping them realize they are an amazing mother even when they can’t, or don’t want to breastfeed any longer. It takes a village, they say. I’d love to be a part of yours.

My personal breastfeeding journey started with the home birth of my first son in 2003. Like many mothers I struggled with breastfeeding. I found La Leche League (LLL), what a blessing in disguise! With the help I was given, I knew this was the path for me to help other mothers. I became a peer to peer breastfeeding counselor within the LLL organization. In 2005 my second son was born via an emergency cesarean delivery,14 weeks early! I learned so much about lactation & breastfeeding a premature baby. In 2008, this evolved into working in the hospital where he was born as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I studied and learned more about human lactation and I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2009. I worked in a hospital setting for 15 years. My experience with two very different breastfeeding situations has fueled my passion to help all parents meet their specific lactation and breastfeeding goals. I graduated from Union Institute & University in 2015 with my Bachelors of Science in Maternal Child Health with an emphasis in Human Lactation.

My journey to becoming a postpartum doula and lactation counselor began after experiencing the lack of support from medical staff when my first son was born. This personal experience ignited my passion to ensure that other mothers do not feel the same sense of isolation and overwhelm. I am dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive support to new mothers. My goal is to help women heal from their birth experience, feel confident in their new role, and not feel alone during this crucial time. Through my services, I strive to create a nurturing environment where mothers can thrive, bond with their babies, and access the guidance they need for a successful breastfeeding journey.

I was certified in 2015, and I have served as a volunteer peer breastfeeding counselor since 2011. I have a degree in Psychology and believe that the most important aspect of lactation care is listening closely to the new parent so I can understand their individual situation and feeding goals before working together with them to create a personalized care plan. Having been part of the lactation field for over ten years, my goal is that every new parent feels fully supported during their feeding journey. I provide care in home visits, telehealth, and office visits. I specialize in latch and positioning adjustments for greater comfort in breastfeeding and have expertise in all areas of lactation including pumping, bottle-feeding, tongue tie, weaning, induced lactation, and more.
