Service introduction

*CURRENTLY ONLY TAKING POSTPARTUM CLIENTS* As a birth doula, I begin services with clients in the third trimester. Prior to the big day, I provide in-person and/or virtual prenatal appointments where we discuss any concerns/question the expectant person may have as well as practice acupressure, birthing position, and various comfort measures. In between these visits, I communicate with the birthing person and assist in any way possible with the birth plan. I go on call at around 37 weeks where I am available via text, call, or email 24/7. For the birthing experience, I come to the birthing location once the client is in active labor. I stay by the expectant persons side the entire time until an hour after delivery. Throughout labor, I am there to facilitate comfort measures with the birthing person as well as ensure that the birth plan is being implemented throughout the experience. Once I leave the birthing location, I remain in contact with the new parent(s) and will schedule postpartum visits. These visits allow me to ensure that the new parent(s) have resources and are adjusting well to parenthood. I typically leave it up to the birthing person as to how they would like to utilize the time so that their individual wishes are valued. Postpartum services are available to both be inquired for individually or be extended after receiving birth doula services. Postpartum services are typically conducted at the new parent(s) home. These visits allow me to be of assistance to the parent(s) however they see fit and provide assistance with the transition to life with a newborn. Throughout the visits, I provide the family with information and support on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery for the birthing person/parent(s), infant soothing, and coping skills for parents. To ensure that the home is a peaceful and stress-free environment for the parent(s), I am happy to assist by performing household tasks such as light housework, assisting with older siblings, light errands, and light meal prep. Ultimately, these visits are designed around the needs of the individual family and my goal is to ensure that individual needs are respected and honored. I strongly believe in the relationships that are cultivated throughout the experience. As the birth doula and postpartum doula, I am grateful to be a part of such an important and unforgettable memory for the clients I work with and I love to stay in contact once services have concluded if the family feels comfortable doing so!

Amalia provided her birth doula services to me in the summer of 2023. She was professional, timely, compassionate & easy to connect with. The package I chose allowed for assistance with my birthing plan, options to help induce labor, ways to encourage calmness during the chaos of the different stages of labor. Amalia was available to chat when I needed her, provided on call services in my high risk pregnancy and became a trusted source when I needed her. For my first experience with a Doula, Amalia made it worth it. I finally experience a labor and delivery experience that was filled with support and positive energy! So grateful to have found Amalia and experience her knowledge of birth and her beautiful spirit.
