Birth & Postpartum Doula

About me

My name is Virginia Parent. I am a Doula and Night Nanny located in Venice, Florida. I have been a Doula for the last 5 years serving families from Lakewood Ranch, Myakka city, to Fort Myers. I believe all families deserve to have a supported birth experience. As a mother of 4, I have experienced two hospital births, one which was an induction and a NICU baby; and I have experienced two midwife supported water births. I have formula fed, exclusively pumped, and exclusively breastfed. My large range of personal experience helps me to remind my clients that birth has a wide range of normal and allows me to relate, personally, to clients no matter how they choose to give birth. I am here to help mother's experience a cozy and welcoming journey into their new roles as mothers and as a family. I am trained as a Postpartum Doula and have recently shifted into Night Nanny work. I am focused on providing parents with the best sleep they can get during the transitional times of being a new parent for the first time or the 5th time. This includes providing breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and pumping support, providing support through sleep regressions, schedules, and following the parents lead for their ideal sleep situations. I also offer breastfeeding and pumping support in small sessions to help with scheduling, latch issues (within normal range), and assisting when baby maybe struggling with growth. I love the work that I do because it helps support parents through some of the most trying and vulnerable times of their parenthood journey. I hope you consider me for your next journey through parenthood. I am an LLC, CPR/First Aid Certified, and Insured.

Service introduction

Services for Birth Doula include prenatal visits, on-call labor support, 24/7 phone support, and 4th trimester postpartum support. Additionally, I work with a Partner Doula to ensure you always have a Doula available for your needs. You will meet the Partner Doula during visits and have access to both of us throughout your pregnancy. We will provide you with educational information, support for your birth choices, and provide caring hands during your labor experience. While I am a trained Postpartum Doula, I have shifted my practice more towards Night Nanny Care and Newborn Overnight Care Specialist. My goal is to provide the opportunity for parents to sleep and be fully rested so that they can peacefully enjoy all stages of their newborn, infant, and toddler. I provide sleep support through schedule suggestions, following parents lead for sleep support, and doing light housework so you can wake up to be the best parent you can be. I do also provide single to a few day sessions of breastfeeding support through education, latch complications (within normal range), and pumping support. Providing smooth transitions through pregnancy, birth, newborn stage, infant stage, and beyond. Contact me for a free consultation and PDFs that provide additional information and pricing.* *Since I do not take insurance there is one slot available each month for discounted/sliding scale for Night Nanny services. You must be Medicaid eligible and provide a copy of Medicaid Gold Card, Approval Letter with date, or Medicaid HMO insurance card. Birth Doula services provided at a discount in limited capacity and based solely on availability.
