"Most of us did not learn when we were young that our capacity to be self-loving would be shaped by the work we do and whether that work enhances our well-being." – bell hooks. This is a quote that has stuck with me as I explore my career path. Becoming a doula is something I did not follow through with until the murder of George Floyd. Seeing the striking images of pregnant Black mothers protesting around the country ignited the fire in me to finally complete my training to become a certified perinatal educator - meaning I can provide childbirth education, prenatal support, labor and delivery support, lactation support, and newborn care support. But my calling to birth work started on the day I was born with my mother being hospitalized for 2 months postpartum from an avoidable mistake during an emergency c-section. I value empathy, collaboration, and being open minded. As a doula, I am intentional about serving my clients in a way that supports self-empowerment, so they feel they have all the information they feel they need to make the best decision for them and their baby/babies. I do not shy away from vulnerability, and I believe this allows me to have relationships with my clients built on trust.

Tricia was a great help to my husband and I during my pregnancy period through delivery. She is fun to work with. She knows her work.

She is a wonderful most caring person I have ever met. She goes above and beyond she’s wonderful with people and just talking and getting to know you and making sure you’re comfortable. Tricia can make you smile and laugh and make it seem like you guys known each other for more than just a little time that you have. I loved her so much and will recommend her to friends and I can’t wait to have her again when I have another baby❣️

I was so blessed to have Tricia as my doula throughout my pregnancy and even after. She was not only encouraging but she was practical when providing resources and information on how to flow through pregnancy as smoothly as possible and breastfeed my baby. Tricia listened to all my goals for labor but also was there for me when my birthing process didn’t manifest in the way I’d imagine it to. Above all I wanted to just live and bring a healthy baby Earth-side no matter the adversity. I was able to do just that because I had the support of a professional yet nurturing doula like Tricia. Honestly, a person who was a part of the most important experience of my life thus far, who not only held space for me but literally held me during the scariest moment of my life, helping me to breathe through all of it, I consider nothing less than my family.
