About me

Childbirth educator and birth doula since 1996. My focus is on preparing expectant parents for their hospital births I provide virtual support while a newer, younger doula attends the birth in person. It's the best of both worlds :) I also attend births of 2nd babies if the first was a vaginal birth or if the birthing person was dilated to 7cm or more with the first labor.

Service introduction

I offer childbirth education specifically for hospital birth. Birth can be complicated but birth in a hospital adds another layer to the potential complications. A laboring person may not be able to make good decisions during labor and non-birthing partners may feel lost, confused, and scared. This can make them vulnerable to accepting whatever decisions the hospital staff makes. My classes prepare couples to deal with the hospital policies and procedures so they can understand the process and advocate for themselves to get the birth experience they want. I also provide virtual birth services for the expectant parents with or without a doula's presence at their birth. I work with many newer doulas who can attend the birth in person so couples have the newer doula's enthusiasm and recent training and the benefit of my decades of experience.
