Hello! My name is Tiffany Wangard and I am a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, Birth Doula, and Professional Babywearing Educator in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Birth and breastfeeding are my deepest passions in life (aside from my family), and I am always looking to learn and advance my knowledge and skillset to serve the women in my care better. I believe that birth and breastfeeding is a sacred and spiritual journey that God has perfectly designed for us. Coming from a military background, I believe that birth & breastfeeding requires less intervention and more practical support. My practice aims to create a judgment-free zone for all who are seeking deep emotional and educational support and always centers the mother as the ultimate authority. In my free time, you'll catch me reading the word of God, volunteering at my local church and pregnancy center, and homeschooling my children.

Highly recommend Tiffany! She talked me through my entire labor and even helped my husband with ways to help me cope throughout the process. She helped me have a voice when I physically couldn’t speak and I’m forever grateful for her! ❤️❤️

For many months, I had been praying for help & guidance on my pregnancy. I had wanted to approach birth a very specific way. I decided along with my partner that I wanted a doula for many different reasons but the main reason was I realized I wanted the physical and emotional support provided by a doula at birth – and leading up to it. God had it play out just right to where I would come across Tiffany Wangard Birth & Lactation. Tiffany was so professional, and the level of information she gave us just at our first meeting made us hire her, even though she technically wasn’t taking on clients. Tiffany came to our house at certain weeks prior to my due date, fully explaining how the birth could go and it helped me really visualize what I would be going through. She made sure that any question I had was answered in depth AND with articles/research/podcasts to back it up. I wasn’t prepared originally but after her visits, I knew what to expect. I knew what my body would be doing during birth. Also having her available 24/7 to text or call with any random questions was very valuable. My husband told me that once we hired Tiffany (and even after our first meeting) that he felt incredibly more confident and prepared for our birth. Otherwise – it would’ve just been him and I alone during my labour – not really knowing what to do or what was normal. She not only provided me with support but she provided my husband with support as well. She makes sure that your partner feels included, supported, and cared for. Tiffany was also a Marine and her partner is currently in the Marine Corps. This was very important to us as we are a military family. She was able to relate to us not only from a work standpoint but from a personal & familial side of things. I ended up going into labor 3 weeks earlier than I thought. I was already halfway through labor (though I didn’t know it at the time) when I went to the hospital. Tiffany dropped everything she was doing when it was confirmed I was in active labor and headed over our way. She immediately went to work and had me resting in different positions, talked to me, brought me food, sat with me, held my hand, assured my partner and helped him by suggesting different ways in which he could help me. I had chosen to take the hospital route for my birth but if I could do it over again, I would have went the home birth or birthing center route along with having Tiffany as my doula. The hospital environment just didn’t fit my needs but she did. Tiffany was calm, reassuring, and a blessing really. She visited after the birth and answered any questions we had as new parents. Hiring Tiffany Wangard Birth & Lactation was priceless. I felt much more empowered than I would have felt like originally if I approached this alone. I love that she encourages birth to be uninterrupted and let it play out the way nature intends for it to. She builds up your self-confidence and reminds you that yes, your body is made for this. That it knows what it’s doing and to just trust that you indeed ARE strong enough for birth. It is said that having a doula is useful at birth and I can confidently say this is completely true. I felt like a badass pushing my daughter out, fully embracing the pain. Her words were just so powerful. We’re so happy we had Tiffany to help guide us through our whole journey. If I ever decided I wanted to have another baby, I would choose Tiffany for my doula services time and time again. I’d highly recommend her hands, heart, and expertise to any expecting family.
