About me

Taylor is a Doula, Placenta Encapsulator, and Student Midwife serving families in the San Francisco Bay Area. Working with children for over a decade as a nanny, she has always had a passion for supporting families. After attending her first birth in 2016, she discovered that she had a deep calling to join the Birth World. She completed her Birth Doula training at Natural Resources in 2019. Taylor is currently serving her community as a Doula and Placenta Encapsulator and is a Student Midwife at National Midwifery Institute, studying under the well-loved community midwife, Michelle Welborn, CPM. Taylor has a calm, “can do” attitude and loves to help you explore all your options during pregnancy and birth. She believes that births are best supported by listening to your body and creating an environment filled with love, trust, connection, and calm. In her free time she loves spending time with her sweet daughter, Magnolia, her orange tabby cat, Max, her loving and supportive husband, Sean, her two adorable nieces, and her wonderful and inspiring siblings. Taylor also has a passion for yoga, rollerblading, and foraging, growing, and learning about mushrooms. Her happy place is the beach.

Service introduction

Birth Doula Support (currently only taking homebirth clients, repeat clients, family/friends) 2-3 prenatal visits where we prepare for your labor, birth, and postpartum experience. Email and phone support during your pregnancy, early labor, and postpartum to help answer questions and offer support and guidance. I try to provide evidence based information when answering questions (some topics have not been studied yet, we need more scientists that are interested in this field!). Labor support that is compassionate, caring, and knowledgeable. Focusing on how to feel safe and cope with labor and birth. I will stay with you and support you during the Golden Hour and your baby’s first feed and stay with you until about 1-2 hours after the arrival of your baby. Coping techniques: acupressure, positioning, hot/cold therapy, massage, aromatherapy, TENS unit (I will loan you one free of charge). Support through unmedicated and medicated births as I feel I am here to support YOU in whatever you are choosing for your body and your baby. Photos of your labor and birth. Prenatal/newborn/family photography can be offered outside of your Birth Doula package. Keeping detailed notes of your birth journey (What time did my waters open? How long was I pushing?) and sharing them with you postpartum. One postpartum visit to process your birth together and answer any questions you have about postpartum healing, breastfeeding, and newborn care. Resources: I have lots of resources that I love to share with clients if you are seeking a new book to read, video to watch, or acupuncturist/chiropractor/pelvic floor therapist to go to (among many others).
