About me

Hi, I’m Tamika Mapp (she/her) – founder of Kindroot Doula Collective. The birth I always hoped for—because of Tamika." Giving birth in a hospital without any medication was something I deeply wanted, but I wasn’t sure it was possible—until I had Tamika by my side. From our very first prenatal visit, she made me feel empowered, seen, and completely in control of my choices. When labor started, she was calm, present, and exactly the grounding energy I needed. She used massage, counter-pressure, and soothing words during every contraction. She helped my partner stay calm and involved, and reminded me to trust my body when things got intense. Tamika created a peaceful environment, even in a clinical hospital room, and made sure my voice was heard by the staff every step of the way. Because of her, I labored naturally, stayed focused, and delivered my baby just the way I envisioned. I’ll never forget how strong she helped me feel. Kindroot Doula Collective truly gave me the birth I dreamed of. Thank you, Tamika. You were my rock. 💜 – A Grateful First-Time Mom
