Hi! I’m Sydney, the founder of The Village Doula Collective, LLC. My journey into birth work began nearly a decade ago while working as a nanny. What started as childcare evolved into something deeper—I found myself supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and I realized how much I loved being part of that transformative time. That experience led me to become a doula, and since then, I’ve dedicated my career to providing compassionate, informed, and inclusive care. I am a certified full-spectrum doula, trained through the Somatic Arts & Sciences Institute, with additional education from organizations such as Cornerstone Doula Trainings, and Birth Advocacy Doula Training. I also received my Lactation Education Specialist training from Santiago Canyon College. I’ve had the honor of attending births and supporting families through postpartum recovery, and my passion for this work continues to grow. With a bachelor’s degree in sociology, I understand that birth support is not just about physical care—it’s about addressing the systemic disparities that impact birthing people, particularly in BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. My mission is to make doula care accessible and equitable, ensuring that every family—regardless of income, background, or identity—has the support they need. At The Village Doula Collective, we believe in the power of community. Whether through direct support, education, or advocacy, we’re here to uplift birthing people and the doulas who serve them.

I can’t say enough good things about having Sydney as my doula! From the start, she made me feel comfortable and prepared, even when I wasn’t sure what to expect. She listened to what I wanted for my birth and helped me feel ready for whatever came my way. When labor hit, she was amazing. She kept me focused, helped me find ways to work through the pain, and was right there when I needed encouragement. She also made sure my partner knew how to help, which made a huge difference. Even when things got tough, she stayed calm and kept me feeling strong. I don’t know what I would’ve done without her! If you’re thinking about hiring a doula, do it—and make sure it’s Sydney!

Sydney was such a huge support during my postpartum journey! She made me feel cared for, reassured, and never alone during those exhausting early weeks. Breastfeeding was tough at first, and I was struggling with latch issues and low supply. Sydney helped me navigate it all, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical tips that made a big difference. When we realized I needed extra support, she quickly referred me to an IBCLC, which was exactly what I needed. She made sure I had the right resources while continuing to check in and support me every step of the way. Beyond feeding, she reminded me to take care of myself, helped me rest when I could, and always made me feel seen—not just as a new mom, but as a person. I can’t recommend her enough! If you need someone in your corner after birth, Sydney is amazing.

Sydney was an absolute lifesaver during my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. From the moment we connected, she provided unwavering support, knowledge, and reassurance that made all the difference in my experience. She took the time to truly understand my needs and preferences, offering evidence-based information while always respecting my choices. During labor, she was a calming presence—helping me navigate contractions, advocating for me in the hospital setting, and ensuring I felt heard and empowered every step of the way. Her guidance made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel manageable and even beautiful. Postpartum, Sydney’s care was just as invaluable. She helped me establish breastfeeding, supported me through the emotional ups and downs of new motherhood, and offered practical help that made my transition so much smoother. It was clear she genuinely cared about my well-being, not just as a new mom, but as a person. I can’t recommend Sydney enough to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated doula. She has a true gift for this work, and any family would be lucky to have her by their side.
