Welcome to Mother Trees. I am a Registered Nurse, Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Pre and Perinatal Psychology Educator and Biodynamic CranioSacral Therapist., located in Issaquah, WA. Birthing a new soul is a sacred rite of passage. In our busy world we have forgotten how to be fully present to receive this gift. Unfortunately, most hospital births feel far from empowering or sacred. Deliveries are often induced, creating a faster paced timeline that can make communication between mom and baby more confusing and difficult. Taking time to slow down and listen deeply to your baby, your partner and yourself can be immensely rewarding. It is not what we normally do, so having a guide is helpful. This is the service I’ve been providing to new parents for more than 30 years. I have worked with thousands of breastfeeding families in hospital and home settings. It brings me great joy to provide support and direction during your transition into parenting.

I offer individual Breastfeeding Consultations as well as a more comprehensive package called the Breastfeeding Success Program. (If your insurance is accepted through TLN, six lactation visits are usually covered at a minimum, more can be approved if medically needed. I also accept HSA and FSA payments if you are not covered through TLN.) I also offer individual Biodynamic CranioSacral Therapy sessions for mom, baby and family members, outside of breastfeeding consultations. Biodynamic CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands on practice that focuses on calming the nervous system. As a practitioner, I work with the client to build our connection in a safe and protective environment. Once the body feels safe; unwinding, relaxation and healing is possible.
Susan has a natural ability to make you feel at ease, which was exactly what me and my baby needed during a challenging time with feeding. Susan brought a sense of calm into our household when we were at our most stressed and hectic. Susan is not only very knowledgeable but also incredibly empathetic and caring. She took the time to listen to my concerns, answered all my questions with patience, and provided clear, practical guidance along with consistent follow up support. Her gentle, reassuring approach has made me feel supported and empowered throughout my breastfeeding journey. I highly recommend Susan as a lactation consultant!

Susan’s work is profound. I started working with her when I was 6-months pregnant. I knew the mechanics of breastfeeding, but, Susan worked on my emotional response and connection to my baby. I was able to go into nursing with a lighter heart, and baby was a natural.

I would highly recommend Susan as an experienced and compassionate guide for breastfeeding. I first reached out to Susan when I was 1 week postpartum with my first child, and finding breastfeeding to be extremely painful. She was thorough and kind in her approach. She went above and beyond my expectations in sharing resources with me of things to try that could help me on my journey. Within a few days, I was seeing improvements, and within a few weeks, I was able to truly enjoy breastfeeding for the first time. Later, she extended the same level of care when I was struggling with a plugged duct. With my second child, Susan was there to guide me through slow infant weight gain issues. I always feel empowered, educated, and cared for after an appointment.
