About Stephanie

Hi there! I’m Steph, mum of 1 tricky sleeper, certified holistic sleep coach (OCN Level 6) and based in Edinburgh. I first knew I wanted to become a sleep consultant when my daughter was around 6 months old. For a long time, I'd been trying to block out the sleep training noise and find ways that I could help my daughter to sleep better, without leaving her to cry alone, for any length of time. I did a lot of reading - books, studies, research, articles, blogs and I did a whole lot of instagramming. Through doing this I managed to find a wonderful course that I felt really represented my parenting principles and gave me a well-rounded view of how to support parents to help them get better sleep. The Holistic Sleep Coaching Programme is evidence based, thorough and in depth and has amounted to around 60 hours of study, plus my own additional reading and research that I've completed. My goal is to support you to feel more confident with your choices as a parent and to help you find strategies that you are comfortable with, to get you more sleep. I will provide you with the tools to make choices for your family that are responsive, attachment focused, and that will set you up with the best chance of getting some good rest.

Frequently asked questions

How should I prepare for my initial consultation?

When you book a consultation, I'll be in touch via email with a form for you to complete as well as a 3-day sleep diary. This will ask you lots of questions about your current situation, your preferences and what you want to achieve. Other than that, just come along as you are.

Do you offer remote consultations?

Yes! We can easily carry out remote consultations using video call and email. I work with people around the world, so we can also find a time that suits you.

Will you ask me to leave my baby to cry?

No! I will never ask you to do anything you don't want to do. The strategies I work with are attachment based and responsive, so although I can't promise that your baby will never cry (as babies do sometimes protest change), I will recommend ways of supporting your baby through that change and being with them. I trust you, as the expert on your baby to know what feels right for you and your family.

What training have you had?

I am a Certified Holistic Sleep Coach (OCN Level 6) and trained through Lyndsey Hookway's Holistic Sleep Coaching Program. This program is 16 in-depth, evidence-based modules, led by industry experts which totals over 60 hours study. We're also required to sign up to a code of conduct that ensures we prioritise responsive parenting, attachment, family-centred care, and not recommending leaving a child to cry alone.

What methods do you use?

I have an array of different methods and I try and find ones which best fit your family, you parenting style, your sleep goals, and your baby. All the methods I use are responsive, attachment focused and gentle such as habit stacking, sleep shaping, along with other methods that follow the child's pace.
