About me

Homemade Birth upholds the body's natural birth design while empowering families to craft unique and meaningful birth experiences. Just as homemade evokes the warmth and comfort of home, I aim to provide the same sense of security and familiarity during childbirth in any setting. And if you want to birth your baby where you made your baby, I’m here to help you prepare for your home birth every step of the way. As one of life’s most beautiful moments, your birth deserves the same personal care and attention as anything homemade. As a birth doula and perinatal occupational therapist, I love to help people find success and fulfilment in everyday activities, like birth! With eight years of experience working in mental health and addiction recovery, I bring a unique and compassionate skill set to provide empathetic, non-judgmental support to clients who may be facing additional challenges during their pregnancy and postpartum journey. Having had two home births myself, I have a deep appreciation for the unique and intimate experience that birthing at home offers. While I work with clients in all birth settings, I bring an experienced perspective to those planning a home birth. No matter where you choose to welcome your baby, I promote the familiarity and warmth of home in your birth space. I live in South Minneapolis with my husband and three young boys who keep us active and exploring our city. We enjoy biking the Mississippi River trails and trying new playgrounds (bonus if they have a coffee shop or food truck nearby!).

Service introduction

I offer holistic birth doula services. We'll meet in your pregnancy to prepare for the birth you've been dreaming of. I'm here to support you and your partner in labor to help make your birth as comfortable, peaceful, and safe as possible. I offer two postpartum visits because new parents benefit from familiar, knowledgeable care while adjusting. I also offer postpartum transition occupational therapy services. Unlike postpartum doula services that perform tasks for you, my approach is centered around empowering you to take charge of your new lifestyle with confidence and ease. I provide personalized guidance to identify what's working well in your current routine and what areas you wish to improve. I'll help you build a sustainable and fulfilling lifestyle for you and your family. You don't have to just survive the postpartum period; you can thrive.
