My name is Sherri Gunn and I am one of the owners of Utah Breastfeeding & Tongue Tie center. I am a mom to six kids and had a very different breast-feeding journey with each one. I am passionate about helping others have support and help on their breast-feeding journey. I’m also a Myofunctional therapist so navigating oral restrictions and tethered oral ties is what I do best. I was also a NICU RN for years and have a special love for that population. I’m currently in school to become a family nurse practitioner so my life is a little crazy. If I am not at the clinic or studying or running kids around to various activities or making dinner, you can find me on my pretend farm feeding baby goats.

We specialize in all things lactation, we do ultrasound therapy for mastitis, which has an incredible healing rate, we have IV therapy for low milk supply and just recovering from birth. With our tongue tie specialty we offer myofunctional therapy as well as surgical release with a CO2 laser. But treating the tongue tie isn’t the answer without looking at the whole body. We also offer craniosacral, therapy, and bodywork. We offer Iasis microcurrent neurofeedback for depression and anxiety. We also have speech and language pathologists who can treat speech issues.
This is my 4th child that I’ve come seeking help from Sherri! I keep coming back because of the wealth of knowledge from all my variety of issues I’ve experienced while trying to breastfeed each of my children. This time around I have gotten help with how to treat thrush, improve a bad latch by opening up fascia and doing exercises to improve tongue function, and confirming a lip tie to be released and stretches for that as well. I typically struggle with milk supply, so that is another aspect we always cover with each child. I have been helped both during office hours and after hours and I have been grateful for all the support and suggestions and instructions! I would recommend her to anyone needing the help.

In terms of people who saved me during postpartum, Sherri is right there next to my angel mother. Finding Sherri and her clinic was an awnser to my prayers. I was so confused and distraught when my 3 month old started to refuse nursing after 3 months of breastfeeding with no issues. I was trying everything, I took her to her pediatrician and met with a lactation consultant and I still couldn’t find answers. I was referred to Sherri by my sister-in-law and Sherri was able to help me figure out she had a tongue tie and nursing was too much work for her. She even helped me see how hard it was for my baby to even drink a bottle. After that Sherri and her clinic held my hand through every step of the process to get my babies tie released. I felt so supported and cared for as we were going through a difficult process. My baby is now eating like a champion and I’m so grateful we found Sherri. I honestly don’t know how we would’ve discovered my babies issues otherwise and my baby would likely still be struggling to eat. Sherri really cares. She cried with me at each appointment because I was so lost, confused and sad that I could no longer feed my baby the way I wanted to. She is an angel for helping women who are struggling to feed their babies.
