Looking for a doula who also can double as a lactation consultant since I am planning on breastfeeding. Would need during the birth and after wards just until I get the hang of breastfeeding. My husband has chosen not to be in the room for the actual birth or the afterbirth due to past trauma, but my Mom said she will be in the room for me and potentially my best friend if she can make it in time. 1. Froedtert Main Campus 2. We tried signing up for the BOMB program, but it’s full due to lack of funding. So we are open to hearing the going rates for doula services. 3. My wife and I are having twins! (The due date was adjusted to 38 weeks. Hoping they may come a tad earlier anyway.) Her mom and my mom both want to be in the delivery room as well, so I’m really looking for someone to give me agency during labor. Since I’m more educated with making the medical decisions, I am hoping for someone to help guide me and explain my options to me during this hopefully non-hectic time. :) I hope to have a natural delivery if Baby A is head down. I was told if he is breech then I will need a c-section, which is fine - whatever is best for the babies. Otherwise, I’d like to be walking around and moving and stretching as long as possible before laying in the bed and having an epidural (6cm?). I am open to pitocin and other meds as necessary and advised. Provided Froedtert is a teaching hospital, I will allow the resident to do cervical checks, etc, but not the students since there will already be enough going on and enough people in the room, especially given I’m “high risk”.
