I'm planning to deliver at Providence St. John's in Santa Monica, and am hoping for a VBAC as my first son was a c-section after being induced due to his growth restriction. My budget is $1,000 and I'm mostly just looking for support for delivery as I worked with a doula for my first pregnancy in creating a birth plan, going over comfort measures, etc. and I will have my mom in town for support after delivery. I am recovered from vaginismus, but my mind/body connection with tension and pain is pretty high so I plan to get an epidural, but outside of that I'm hoping for as few interventions as necessary. I'm looking for a doula to help me with the mental/emotional side of labor, to help me know how to move and try different birthing positions to help my body do what it was designed to do, and to be an advocate as I work towards a VBAC!

Doula support for medical supported vaginal birth

We are trying to decide whether we will give birth at Kaiser West LA or at Kindred Space Birthing Center. We are looking for a Doula that accepts Kaiser insurance. This is my husband and I's first pregnancy so we are looking for someone who can provide emotional support and comfort. I would like an unmediated labor so would like support with sticking with this decision. If we end up in a hospital, we would like someone who could advocate for us to have no medical interventions (unless needed for the safety of baby or mom).
