Postpartum Doula
Here's what I can help with if you hire me:
✨ Physical recovery: Education on postpartum care, including proper wound care (if there was a cesarean section), perineal care, and overall physical healing.
✨ Breastfeeding support: Assist with latching techniques, positioning, and addressing common breastfeeding challenges. I can also help you with pumping and storing breast milk.
✨ Newborn care guidance: Provide education on baby care essentials, such as diapering, bathing, and soothing techniques.
✨ Sleep support: Help establish healthy sleep patterns for yourself and the baby, providing opportunities for you to rest and recover.
✨ Household chores: Assist with light housekeeping duties like laundry, dishes, and tidying up, allowing you to focus on your recovery and bonding with the baby.
✨ Meal preparation: Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for you to ensure you maintain your energy levels during the postpartum period.
✨ Sibling care: If there are older siblings, a postpartum doula may engage them in activities and help with their care to ease the transition.
✨ Errands: Run errands such as grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions.
✨ Information and resources: Provide evidence-based information on baby care, postpartum recovery, and emotional well-being.
I belong to "Evidence Based Birth" professional membership so I have access to various information if you'd like that.
✨ Partner and family support: Support partners and family members in their roles as well, helping them adjust to the new family dynamics.
✨ Emotional well-being: Monitor for signs of postpartum mood disorders and offer resources or referrals for professional help if needed.
✨ Relaxation techniques: Introduce relaxation exercises and stress-reduction techniques to promote overall well-being.
✨ Communication and advocacy: Help the mother communicate her needs and preferences to healthcare providers and other support services.
✨ Postpartum planning: Assist the mother in creating a postpartum plan that outlines her support system, goals, and self-care strategies. We will do this while you're still pregnant to help get things ready ahead of time.
