About me

I am a mother of five and have supported women on their motherhood journey since high school. I often feel that doula work chose me and not the other way around. Having attended over 150 deliveries as a professional DONA-trained doula, I have experience in various births and know the power this moment carries. I have pursued a unique area of study in anxiety and sensory sensitivity. Along with this, I have extensive experience in: *IVF journeys *VBAC *Mothers of Advanced Maternal Age *Hospital Deliveries *High Risk Delivery *Successful use of Epidural *Navigating home birth transfers *Mothers with sensory needs and/or need for mental health support I would love to set up a time to talk about how I may be able to help support you during your pregnancy and birth! Would you like to take a childbirth class that will teach you how labor progresses and the steps you and your partner can take to manage each? That is exactly what this class has been designed to you! This class was created out of my own experience giving birth to five children, my experience as a support person to over 100 women and evidence based practice. I will offer you tips and tricks that have actually worked time and time again and make sure you and your chosen partner have a clear grasp on the stages of labor and what happens during the first few days and hours after delivery. This is a comprehensive class and includes your own copy of The Birth Partner, by Penny Simpkin. This class is appropriate for anyone delivering in any birth setting and can be tailored to accommodate specific concerns such as IVF, Advanced Maternal Age, Multiples and more. I know that for most couples the goal of the childbirth class is to understand birth, know what to expect and how to manage and for their partner to know how to best support them. Parris Tiumentsev was our labor and delivery doula. We had the absolute best experience with her from start to finish! She’s very professional, intelligent, highly experienced, has an easy-going and calming personality, and is super knowledgeable about the entire labor and delivery experience. She was an invaluable resource both prenatally and postpartum! She was also a great advocate for us as we navigated communication with the doctors and nurses and helped to ensure I had a voice in all the decision making around pain management and interventions. This was my second birth at a hospital and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better support partner. ALL our praise for Parris!!!
