Our primary need is for compassionate postpartum care, including both day and potentially some overnight visits to sleep support, to help us navigate this new chapter as we will be on our own until my mother comes to stay with us for a couple months. We have a Kaiser HMO plan and are specifically interested in using the doula services covered by the insurance's package. We are also interested in supplementing/ extending our support beyond the covered services for the right fit and our ideal support package. I have Anthem health insurance and I believe doula services are fully covered, but can also budget for anything not covered (eg, sleep coaching?) Hello, I am giving birth at Kaiser Oakland - I'd ideally like to find a doula who takes Kaiser. I'm doing Centering Pregnancy through Kaiser, as well as taking the Kaiser classes for birth, newborn care and breastfeeding, so I don't feel like I'm going in completely blind, but it's my first pregnancy so there's a lot my partner and I just don't know. I am having a c section on October 15, 2025 and would like all doula services focused around lactation and baby bonding support ASAP postpartum. My 1st child had a lip and tongue tie and was 5.5lbs so would fall asleep as soon as he latched. Breastfeeding was very emotional and stressful, ultimately I ended up exclusively pumping. I am hopeful for a successful and bonding breastfeeding experience for this baby. -I will be giving birth at Oakland Kaiser -Budget is Kaiser coverage -Birth plan is a scheduled c section as 12:30pm on October 15, 2025. We plan to deliver at the hospital in Oakland. We are pretty close to the due date, and are hoping to receive birth and postpartum support, with no more than 11 visits. Our birth plan is for vaginal birth, with the use of an epidural. We will defer to our medical team for advice if circumstances make that plan risky or untenable. We do not have a fixed budget as the birthing parent’s insurance covers doula services. The policy (Kaiser) does not explicitly specify price limits but states that it should be within “reasonable market rates”. The policy is also limited to certain primary services and we would like to keep within that range.
