Hello! We live in Marin county but are planning to deliver at Kaiser San Francisco. I am looking for someone to work with before and after birth as well as who can attend the birth. I have 11 sessions covered by Kaiser insurance. I am hoping to find someone who can help advocate for me during the delivery. I do plan to get an epidural but I am interested in doing other things like pressure to mitigate pain (haven’t explored this just yet!).

Wanted to see if you’re available and if we could interview you. We are expecting our second and looking for support outside traditional medicine.

This will be a hospital birth with an likely induction due to my age (42). I had gestational diabetes in my first pregnancy (diet and exercise managed) and expect it may return. I also anticipate using pain medication and an epidural. My priority is to have a doula who can work comfortably within a medical birth plan, provide emotional advocacy with hospital staff, and support for my husband and I, and if needed, use techniques like Spinning Babies. My first labor was a 42-hour induction with a sunny-side-up baby, and my doula’s Spinning Babies work helped her turn. Prenatal massage would be a bonus. Our estimated budget would be $1500-2500, although preferred on the lower side of this.

Our birth plan is for vaginal birth, with the use of an epidural. We will defer to our medical team for advice if circumstances make that plan risky or untenable. We do not have a fixed budget as the birthing parent’s insurance covers doula services. The policy (Kaiser) does not explicitly specify price limits but states that it should be within “reasonable market rates”. The policy is also limited to certain primary services and we would like to keep within that range. We are looking for someone who can be with us during labor and birth and then mostly postpartum support. This is our second child. We are planning on giving birth at Kaiser Walnut Creek. We mostly want to be matched with someone who will work with Kaisers insurance coverage of the 11 visits. Positive, encouraging energy is appreciated during labor. I would like to try to have a natural birth but willing to get an epidural and do what is best for the health of the baby and myself. Someone who can do prenatal massage would be great.

I'm giving birth in San Francisco at the CPMC Van Ness Center. I'm aiming to do a natural birth, vaginal ideally with no epidural. My birth preferences are delayed cord clamping, minimal interventions, no episiotomy, immediate skin-on-skin contact with me and my husband after.
