Hello, I'm Miranda and I have been a Doula and Birth Advocate for 3 years. I serve the Willamette Valley with the Community Doula Program (helping families on IHN/OHP grow their families) and take private clients. I am a Mom of three and had very different birth experience with each baby. Those experiences have granted me a personal understanding of how birth can differ for each pregnancy no matter how much we plan! I love working with a diverse clientele and meeting the needs of each birthing person and family as they welcome their newest member. Every birth is different and I pride myself in being flexible to whatever your needs are.

As my client, you are offered two prenatal visits where we will get to know each other and discuss the end stages of pregnancy, create a birth plan, go over your anxieties (if applicable), create a list of coping options for labor (and your hard 'no' list), gage your partners involvement (will I take the lead for support or teach them how to support you?) Etc. I am on call for you around the clock and will wait for your messeged to meet you at your birthing place where I will support you for your labor. Using all the information we gathered during our prenatal visits, I will help physically and emotionally keep you as grounded and possible and work towards achieving the birth you want. Once we get to welcome your baby, I will see you at 2 postpartum meetings to check on you, your partner/family and baby. I check for signs of postpartum depression, make sure baby is growing and eating well, and everyone looks to be finding their role in the new dynamic. I also can help you set up doctors appointments, lactation consults, connect you with local baby groups, teach you different baby wearing styles, and help you sign up or get info on social programs in your area as needed. I also can teach about aromatherapy with newborns.
