Service introduction

I started caring for young children and infants in 2010. Throughout the years, I have worked with first-time families, families with multiples, and newborns with differences. I began my professional career in education, as an elementary school teacher. Throughout my time, I began to realize my passion lies within newborns, new parents, and perinatal mental health. As I transition out of classroom teaching, I have shifted my focus to mental health, and postpartum support. I hope to share my passion with new families while educating, supporting, and caring for you in one of the times of greatest need. I am so looking forward to meeting you.

Mia is an excellent postpartum doula. As a first-time mom, she was an incredibly calming and reassuring presence in our home during the first few weeks with our newborn. She gave me incredibly useful advice and tips on breastfeeding, bathing our baby, burping techniques and introducing a bottle. If I had any questions while she was not with us, I knew she was a quick text away. I could not recommend Mia highly enough.

“Mia came highly recommended by our birth doula. I didn’t have any family come help so Mia came in for several visits and truly did everything! She made me meals, brought water and tea, made snacks, did baby laundry, and organized all my baby stuff and things I needed for postpartum. She knew what I needed before I knew it. Thanks to her help I was able to transition well into motherhood and felt empowered taking care of my baby myself. What I loved as well is that she prepared me for my pediatrician appointments- I was always very well prepared when we went to see the pediatrician which gave me peace of mind.”

“I hired Mia after my 2nd birth. She is just amazing- such a ray of sunshine and aura of calm! She is studying therapy, hence she is very non-judgmental and very supportive on all topics. Some people can just get babies relaxed and Mia is one of them. I felt I was in the best hands with her and highly recommend her!”

“I had Mia and two other doulas help out after my 2nd baby. They did various shifts throughout the day and evenings. Mia was fantastic. Like having someone who is a combination of a good friend and professional support. I was always very comfortable when she took care of our daughter. Given the nature of having 2 children, she was very flexible in whatever help they needed. Mia is very non-judgemental and helped us in every way. Due to her support, I was able to spend time with my newborn and my husband could take care of our older child. I am so grateful I was able to have so much help after birth this time!”

Mia was IMMENSELY helpful after the birth of my second daughter. My second daughter was born just 22 months after my first, so I had 2 kids under 2 for the first few months. I also had a second c-section so I had limited ability to lift and significant pain for the first few weeks. Mia is a calm, caring, and kind person who somehow knew just the right thing to do or say in that environment. Mia would lovingly hold my newborn daughter so that she would sleep - for hours on end, it seemed - and would compassionately listen to me vent about the many challenges of having 2 young children, trying to work at the same time, and trying to physically get back to a comfortable space. If there was downtime, Mia would fold laundry, do dishes, play with my older daughter, and just generally make everyone's lives better! To be honest, I wish Mia could have just moved in with us for the duration as she made every hour she was there SO much easier and more pleasant. Our first few months with 2 kids under 2 were not easy, but they were manageable BECAUSE we had Mia helping us.
