About Melanie
I wanted to take some time for you to get to know me, the CEO and Founder of Reverence Birth. I was born and raised here in New Jersey by my wonderful Colombian parents. I was fortunate that my parents taught me Spanish and raised me with many different Colombian traditions. I also enjoy spending time with my loved ones, as well as my two beautiful cats, Cheese and Bloom. However, growing up, I was not only an only child but also battled many lifelong chronic conditions. Let’s just say, as a Latina woman, I understand how it feels when receiving care at a medical center can be daunting. This is why I embarked on the path of helping many vulnerable populations from different communities. I am well-acquainted with, and have experienced, the health disparities, inequities, and inequalities that many of you may have faced and felt. Therefore, I am using what I love to do, which is educating and supporting women and their families during pregnancy and all the way through their postpartum period. I strongly believe that all women and their families deserve to be helped, supported, heard, and respected. That's exactly what you will receive with us here at Reverence Birth. Birth & Postpartum Doula packages and pricing
Pregnancy Delights with Smarts (minimum of 3 sessions)
During each session we will go over what to expect in each trimester with evidence-based information for you to make informed decisions about your pregnancy. Some of things we covered may include but not limited to nutrition, emotions and symptoms, importance of dental hygiene during pregnancy, information, and explanations of each of the exams that you were recommended at each trimester, questions to ask the provider according to your needs and preferences, and things to consider. Can be one-on-one or group sessions! Each session will take about an hour long, but these prenatal health educational sessions DO NOT TAKE IN PLACE OF CHILDBIRTH CLASSES. *Discount: If you book and pay for all 3 sessions in full, you pay $55 per session instead of $75 per session! So, take advantage of that amazing discount!
The Reverence Experience
Throughout our time together, we will work together on a plan for the birth you picture for yourself. My goal is to help facilitate those desires for you and help guide your partner in supporting you the way YOU need! We will have prenatal visits to go over everything needed and to show hands on comfort measures for your partner to experience before the big day, so you both feel prepared! I will show you different techniques that can help ease the discomfort of contractions and go over different positions that can help you through labor. Your Support, Advocate, and Navigator
In this package I be working as your community health worker. As a community health worker, I work closely with local resources in the community and programs that you can be eligible for. I can help guide you to find the right resources for your needs, help with application paperwork and advocate on your behalf to get you the care you deserve. Whether it is financial help, food pantry or Medicaid application, I will provide support and advocacy for you and your family to get you the resources you need to help you through this journey! *Disclosure: depending on the length or the extent of each assistance needed each time it will cost you between $25-$75 for each thing acquiring any of my services (For more clarity this please feel free to reach out and ask).

At Reverence Birth, expectant families throughout labor and delivery are respected, heard, and educated, ensuring better birth experience and outcomes. Melanie, the CEO and Founder of Reverence Birth, approaches her birth support with evidence-based information and a love and admiration for birth; she is an advocate for expectant families, who may have experienced adversity in accessing quality care, and strives to offer expectant families with a safe, nurturing, and stable environment to welcome a child. Expectant families should feel comfortable knowing that Reverence Birth provides them with support and education necessary during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Melanie is always expanding her services and knowledge to serve the community in more ways than just labor support. As an advocate for the low-income community, she is providing resource guidance and help with gaining access to local resources.
