Birth Doula
New Berlin, Wisconsin
About me

I’m a Christian wife, mother, and RN who discovered a passion for birth work after having my own babies. While I study towards becoming a midwife, I take on a light load clients as a birth doula. As a birth doula and student midwife, I have the most experience in attending unmedicated labors and do prefer to work with women who have this goal. However, I do still attend medicated births, planned or unplanned. I help my clients experience true informed consent so that they are empowered in their birth choices. In the labor room, I amplify their voice. I’m honored to witness every family’s birth that I have a chance to work with!

Service introduction

The initial consult is free of charge. The remainder of my services are as follows. 2 Prenatal visits: Both are approximately 1 hr but can go longer if we get chatty! I do offer complimentary “prenatal visits” around your immediate due date and post-dates, as a friendly, in person touch base. Labor: We talk about when is best for me to join you in labor. I do not have a time limit but may need to call in a backup for particularly long labors. 1 Postpartum visit: I bring a frozen homemade meal for your family. We debrief on your birth experience. I’m open to cooking or cleaning while I’m at this visit but otherwise am not a postpartum doula. After my services end, I continue to be reachable for anything you might have questions or concerns about. I continue my relationships with my clients and even have play dates with some if you’re looking for a mom friend!

Packages
Prenatals & Postpartum Fee
This fee puts your due date on my calendar. Once this is paid, I am officially your doula! First prenatal: Focus on education on interventions commonly found in whatever birth setting you’ve chosen. For those planning community birth, a brief education on hospital interventions is provided in case of transfer. This is meant to give you information to process so that you can develop your birth plan. Second prenatal: Fine tune your birth plan together and go through what labor generally looks like. I give you a tour of my doula bag so you are familiar with items that I will have available to you and how I can use them. I teach your other support person(s) how to support you. Postpartum visit: We debrief on your experience. We go over how healing and breastfeeding are going. I bring a frozen homemade meal for your family. All visits sprinkle in education on many other things. Labor mental and physical prep. Pelvic floor, VBAC, diet, exercise, supplements, breastfeeding, and anything else that applies to your individual experience.

Labor Fee
Applies to the time I spend with you while you’re in labor. This is due at 36w of pregnancy, in order for me to go on call for you. It goes towards paying a backup doula if they are ever needed, an exchange of money that you as the client will not have to handle.

First Time Mom Fee
It is very hard for me to establish this fee, but after being away from my small children for nearly 2 days at one birth, it was necessary. This fee applies to all first time moms. If the amount of time that I attend you in labor is 24+ hours. If I am with you for under 24hrs, I will refund you at the postpartum visit.
