I believe that all people, but particularly people in childbirth, can do hard things because they are full of love and that love gives them power. I love seeing people experience that power, and I am passionate about protecting their wellbeing as they do so. As a doula, my goal is not to try to “save” you from the process of childbirth (you don’t need to be saved) or tell you how to birth, but to support you with reliable information, a listening ear, and practical help so that you can fully embrace your birth experience, no matter what it looks like.

My primary offering is birth support. I'll meet with you twice prenatally to get to know you and help with whatever you need, attend your birth to provide emotional and physical support, and then meet with you once postpartum. I also offer childbirth education, fully tailored to your educational needs--whatever is needed to help you feel prepared for your labor and birth. I also offer placenta encapsulation, so you can get the benefits of the vitamins, minerals, and hormones in that incredible organ you made. I also offer custom handwovens-- baby wraps, nursing shawls, rebozos, or whatever else you would like made to commemorate your baby's birth and wrap you both in something beautiful.
Madeline is a close friend of mine and I was so excited to have her as my doula for my first baby! Unfortunately, I ended up needing a C-section not too soon after my "labor" started. Although we didn't get to thoroughly practice all the labor prep we had done together (i.e. birth classes, spinning babies videos, recommended books on labor, podcasts to listen to, going through my birth plan, etc.), Maddie was an excellent source of encouragement and helped me grieve the labor I didn't get. She was there for me in the weeks after my baby's birth and visited us multiple times while we were in the NICU, being an invaluable resource to us during a hard time. We are lucky to know her!
