I’m looking for support on a more natural birth. I’ve given birth before without an epidural but it was traumatic and I wasn’t really helped during my labor. This time I’d like to be more in control of how I labor. I’d love to labor in water. I’m also hoping to use my insurance. I live in Long Beach and will probably end up delivering at Memorial.

we are an interracial couple with deep Christian faith. this is our first baby and I am an older mama at 38 y/o. having someone who is deeply experienced as well as a Christian is important to us and if they were a black woman that would be very meaningful. we value the holistic, low/no-toxic lifestyle and would like to have minimal medical interventions, though we know with my advanced age we may need to deliver in a hospital. with that, we would like to have someone that will help us prepare for birth, be an educator and advocate, as well as be present at the birth, so we can focus on one another and be as present as possible to the experience. We are also looking for someone who have help us transition for a few weeks after birth into postpartum (that can be different from the midwife but same preferences apply). This may include overnights to help with sleep or postpartum care for mama, as well as meal planning and any lactation support. this is all new to us, so we want to create a team that can help support us through the process and budget.

I plan a hospital birth with help in normal delivery and exercise. Minimum amount. This is my first pregnancy I have no experience and I am single without family support

I'd love to give birth at home if possible. Budget is $4000 for a midwife Maybe $1000 for a doula. Not sure of typical pricing. I would like my birth to be non medicated and with as few interventions as possible.

I am still undecided on home vs. hospital birth but leaning towards home birth. This is my first baby so I am not sure of budget range. My birth plan is bulleted below: -No induction/water breaking -No catheter -No Pitocin/cytotec -No epidural -Pain: Laboring in tub, hot or cold therapy, massage, movement, bouncing on ball. -Try different birthing positions; all 4s, tug o war, birthing stool, side, anything except laying on back. -No forceps, no vacuum, apply perineal massage. -Birthing of placenta, naturally. Do not tug/pull it out. - Dim-lit or candle lighting. - Open to water/bath birth if my home is capable

In my conception journey, TTC - planning for a home north with a midwife hoping to find someone in the $3000 range (best for my budget) but would be willing to pay more for the right fit. I want a natural birth as unassisted as possible.
